Once again the "simple" doublets. They are indeed used to pin the full, heavy breeches to. On the right we see Alexander wearing a heavier, decorated doublet or casaque, which can be opened in most of the seams with an impressive number of buttons. Straight-waisted doublets and jackets are the most common in the 20s, at least in Holland, but "pointed fronts" are there too. Tabs are small, unless it's an "outer" straight-waisted doublet or casaque.
