Hello, Girls, I'm up on the Crate Paper blog with a new project today. This time, I would like to share with you a new mini album I created using the gorgeous Flourish collection by Maggie Holmes. I adore all the beautiful floral papers and cheerful embellishments, this collection is just perfect for documenting everyday memories, I was so excited to get playing and creating. This album is simple and fun, easy to put together. I trimmed the base of my mini album from white cardstock. This way I could create my pages separately and adhere to the base later. Since I love decorating my pages and adding dimension, I always want to be sure that I have enough space between the pages. I cut three pieces of cardstock (8 ¾ x 5”, 8 ½ x5, 8 ¼ x5”), and bent them 4” from the edges. This way I got 6 pages in size 4x5”, and all the papers have different spine widths. I punch two holes on the spines (one on the top and one on the bottom), and added colorful eyelets to the holes. Once I was done, just gathered all the pages together and bound them with a ribbon. I was so happy when I found this green velvet ribbon from the Carousel collection, its strong enough and fit my album perfectly. On all pages, I used ephemera pieces, stickers, gold puffy thickers and lots of patterned papers repeatedly to create a cohesive look. Interactive pages are always a good idea to make the mini album more interesting! On the left side, I added flip pages using ephemera pieces and cardstock sticker and I also included a confetti bag which I filled with gold leaves and gold sequences. Isn’t this embroidered bird just so cute? I backed a wood frame with patterned paper and adhered the birdy to the center with dimensional adhesive. On the left side, I used a beautiful rose ephemera piece to create a photo holder and decorated the page with gold leaves puffy sticker and added a pretty layered butterfly sticker on the top. Sometimes simple is the best! Adding vellum pocket is one of my favorite technique to create more space for photos and memorabilia. The pink mini tassel looks so pretty hanging on the paper clip. On the last spread, I added a flip page on the right and decorated with fussy cut butterflies. On the right, I adhered a piece of decorative trim next to the photo and layered gold puffy stickers and cardstock stickers below. This mini album turned out better than I could have expected and the reaction of my family has been priceless. It was so worth the effort. Hi everyone! It’s Bea here today to share with you how I organized my Crate Paper Journal Studio notebooks to start the 2019 year! I already use notebooks to document my everyday memories, our travels, and to plan my days, but it became clear that I also need more notebooks with specialized themes. Adding notebooks dealing with only one topic, help me to focus on important things! To create these notebooks, I mixed and matched more Crate Paper collections. I chose the Hooray collection as the base of my projects, but I also grabbed embellishments from the Merry Days, the Chasing Dreams and the La La Love collections. I’m still amazed by their compatibility! For my first notebook, I chose the Party paper as my cover. I love the pretty black dots on the white background, and I decided to decorate the cover mostly with blue embellishments. To create the ‘To do’ title, I added blue alphabet stickers from the Chasing Dreams collection and cut a paper frame using my Cameo. Under the title, I gathered blue house ephemera pieces and cardstock stickers and adhered a gold puffy sticker tree and a star among them. The second notebook gives place to my new and healthy food recipes. I started the cover by choosing the bright yellow Frosted patterned paper and added the title using black alphabet stickers. I just love the cute cup and muffin stickers, and can’t resist to add them to the center! The third notebook combines Hooray collection with the new and incredibly beautiful La La Love collection. I created the cover using the pink Confetti patterned paper, and machine stitched the pretty First Kiss alphabet stickers to the front. This time I wanted to keep the design clean and simple, so I decorated it only with a glittered start ephemera piece and a punched circle paper. Thank you for stopping by today. Hey Crate Paper fans! Its Bea here and I’m so excited to share my first project using HeyPumpkin collection. Halloween collections are always fun to create with, and Hey Pumpkin is no exception. I love the traditional colors and all the adorably spooky embellishments! We always celebrate Halloween at least two times (at the school and at our house party), so we have a bunch of photos to document every year. I decided to create the base of our Halloween album in advance, and add the photos later. I wanted to create a really fun and witchy album, so I turned my album into a cute, black reticule. To do that, I cut a paper box using my cutting machine and added a glittered foam bag buckle. I used the same striped fabric to decorate the album and the paper bag and attached the bag handle to the spine of the mini album. The size of my album is 4.25x5.25”. I used my favorite album binding technique, the hidden hinges technique. First, I created a chipboard album cover and then I folded hidden hinges to hold the pages. To decorate the cover, I backed a glittered chipboard frame with patterned paper and layered fussy cut houses on the front. The beautiful puffy stickers with holographic foil accents are one of my favorites in the collection, and I can’t resist adding the lovely cat sticker to the cover. The sparkling rat stickers and chipboard numbers added a special festive touch to the album. I added a lot of interactive pages, hidden journal tags, and tiny pockets to the album. I decorated the pages mostly with stickers and ephemera pieces. The large orange sequences from the ephemera pack were perfect to fill up the shaker pocket! As a finishing touch, I added fall leaves and beads to the album ‘handle’. I used my WRMK foil quill to add silver lines to the leaves, and then cut them out using my Silhouette. The playful form of the album is absolute makes me happy, and I can’t wait to fill the page with our memories. This mini album is all about my favorite moments at the beautiful Mediterranean Sea from last year. I’m an absolutely ‘summer type’ girl, and feel like this collection is just made for me! The beautiful bright colors and the lovely summer themed embellishments go hand-in-hand! Check out this short & sweet process video so you can see how this mini album came together: The album is a 4.5″x6″ size which I constructed using patterned papers. To create the spine of the album I used a simple accordion fold to attach all of my pages to, and made it stronger using plastic sheet and ribbon. I wanted to keep my album playful and interactive, so I trimmed my pages in different sizes, and added a lot of tiny extra pages to the main pages. My plan was to put one photo on each page and place my journaling behind the photo using a journaling tag. To do this, I turned all pages into a pocket by folding the papers in half and machine stitched them around. I used these paper pockets as main pages for my album. The pages above are some of my favorites in this album. I love the combination of the Sunkissed and Apple patterned paper, so I fussy cut some flowers and adhered them to the blue background. I also used a 3x4″ piece of the Apple paper to create a journaling tag and placed into the page pocket. On the next page, I used the super cool Happy Place paper’s B side as my main page, and can’t resist adding that cute bicycle chipboard sticker under my photo. I added a tiny label from the puffy thicker sheet underneath. Sunny Days collection is jam-packed with cute summer themed embellishments. I arranged a bunch from them on my next page around my photo. One of my favorite things at summer is laying in the sun, breath in the fresh air, reading a good book and relax. I wanted to feature this relax mood on the page, so I placed the photo to the bottom of the page and added cute ‘beach things’ around. Here are the additional spreads inside the mini album. The left page is an interactive page I created from paper stripes. I also added a black and white ephemera piece to the front and decorated with a hand-stitched flower using pink and yellow thread. On the last page of the mini album, I used the beautiful gold alpha stickers to create the title and added one from those fancy striped bows under the photo. Hello everyone! It’s Bea here with you today sharing two different ways to use chipboard stickers in mini album projects! Chipboard stickers are one of my favorite embellishment and I feature them regularly on my scrapbooking project. Due to the size of these stickers, using them in mini albums can be challenging sometimes. Let me show you my favorite types of mini album where you can use chipboard stickers without being your album too bulky. In my first project, I used the blue house from the Willow Lane chipboard sticker sheet as the base of my album and created a tiny Coptic book. The chipboard stickers are hard enough to become a perfect cover for a Coptic book and I love the cute house pages! I started my album with trimming the pages and the back cover. I used the negative part of the sticker as a template. To create the pages, I placed the template on the top of a half-folded patterned paper and cut around the shapes. I stacked the 8 pages with the covers on the top of each other. Using a ruler, I marked the place of the stitching with a pencil. I used an awl to make holes through the pages where I have marked with the pencil. I grabbed a colored thread and started to stitch together the pages. There are a lot of video tutorials about this technique on YouTube (I've learned from this video), I encourage you to give a try! My second inspiration came from a previous mini album I created. I used the beautiful swan chipboard as the main focus element on my mini album page. When I use chipboard stickers as embellishment, I make sure that I use bookbinding rings to put together the pages. This way the album becomes more flexible and the pages hold the wider gap between each other. Find more details about this mini album here. Hey, Crate Paper fans! It’s Bea here with you today sharing a new layout I created as part of ‘Hello Fall’ week! Autumn is my favorite season of the year, from the boots to the leaves, I love it all. It’s just so warm and cozy, kind of like this layout I recently made! When I started my layout, I was immediately drawn to the Album patterned paper from the Heritage collection. This paper with the pastel color blocks on the B side is perfect for die-cutting pretty colorful fall leaves. I used my Cameo for cutting out the leaves. To add more dimension, I folded the leaves in half or added machine stitching to the centerline. Next, I chose the ‘Embroidered’ patterned paper light-colored side as my background and placed my rounded photo on the printed, white photo frame. Then, I arranged all the pretty die-cut leaves around the photo. At this point, I decided to add gold elements to my cluster to reflect the beautiful warm lights of autumn days. To do that, I spread golden leaf sequences around and I fussy cut tiny leaves from the beautiful ‘Gratitude’ specialty paper. This transparent sheet with the sparkling dots is one of my favorite items from the collection. I can’t wait to use it as a mini-album cover or a card base in the near future! To balance my layout, I created two clusters to the right side of the layout. On the right bottom corner, I mostly used pockets from the stationery pack, fussy cut leaves, cardstock stickers, and a chipboard heart. I added my handwritten journaling to the printed lines next to the photo but created the fall word with the beautiful, gold alphabet stickers. And finally, I bent up the edges of the background and adhered on a purple patterned paper. I dropped black paint around to finish. Thanks so much for joining me today! Hi, everybody! I share 4 easy projects using the Heritagedie and stamp set today. This set includes swan, ribbon, frames, and sentiments clear acrylic stamps and coordinating thin metal dies designed by Maggie Holmes. Possibilities are endless! I know you’ll love creating beautiful and unique embellishments with Heritage die set as much as I do, so let’s take a closer look at my project samples. 1. My first project was a super quick gift bag. I trimmed and folded a piece of vellum to get a vellum pocket, and wrapped up with ribbon. I dressed up the pocket with a pretty rosette that I created using the die set. I placed a pretty butterfly sticker to the center of the rosette. Easy-peasy. 2. I absolutely love creating cards, so it was not a question that I created a card with this fun die set. I started by creating a base using patterned paper. Next, I grabbed the die set, and cut circles. I created two rosettes and used the frame stamp with gold embossing powder to add beautiful shiny details. I also added white ruffle using crate paper for more dimension. I adhered an adorable squirrel sticker to the front, and placed the ‘Remember’ and ‘Life is lovely’ stickers to the bottom as a title. 3. Next project is a tiny interactive mini album. The size of the album is 3.5x3.5”. I created the cover using a chipboard base and patterned paper and I attached the pages with ‘hidden hinges’ technique. To decorate the front of the album, I adhered a chipboard sticker to the center and added a die-cut bow to the bottom. Before I adhered the pages to the spine, I cut a little window on the front of them using the circle die. Then I folded the pages in half, adhered to the spine. I placed a tag into every little pocket. On the first page, I added a tiny frame to the window. I made this pretty frame with combining two circle dies from the set. 4. Last, but certainly not least… I adhered a rosette on a wood stick using a hot glue gun to create a nice addition to a table centerpiece. Perfect for any occasion!
