In this post about 3 quick ways of reading 3-card spreads, I wanted to help my readers bridge the gap of moving from simple 2-card combinations into readings of more than two cards. Now I want to do the same with 5-card readings, which takes a BIT more effort but can also be read super
Happy Tuesday! Welcome to another MCM Blog Post! If you need a QUICK, EASY, FABULOUS card layout this is it! Last night we started off with just THREE pieces of paper - a card base, a strip of designer paper and a small square ... and we added in a shape or stamped/die cut image and ended up with a quick and easy card in mere minutes. We then added some texture and a few embellishments to"step it up" ... but TOTALLY not necessary! My layout came from scraps that I had lying on my desk from last week. Use what you've got and create with what time you have. Don't over think it! (*says the girl who TOTALLY overthinks things lol). These are the cards I made in our hour together ... We started off CRAZY simple! A strip of 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" designer paper and a 2 1/2" circle! Added a fussy cut image, some gems and twine and DONE! I freaking LOVE this card! We then took it just one wee step further, by adding in a 3" x 2 3/4" embossed layer and ditched the circle and BOOM! Fancier in no time flat! The embossing folder isn't listed in the product list at the end of the post, as it isn't "current" yet. It is called So Swirly and will be available to customers starting May 1, 2024 ... This one uses the Latte Love Suite of products, with the Something Fancy stamp set ... This one I love so much I used it for my swap card and made 30 of them! Again, the items used aren't listed, as they aren't available until May 1st. They are the Country Flowers Bundle, Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder and Country Lace Embossing Folder. SO easy but SO lovely! Here is the "recipe" of the pieces you need to prep ... ... and here is the Mystery Card Monday (MCM) Facebook Live replay, showing you how to cut the papers and put all the pieces together ... That's it for this week. If you would like to join me LIVE for my MCM (Mystery Card Monday) sessions, you can catch me on my FaceBook Page here at 7:00 pm Mountain Time every Monday ... or on my YouTube Channel here at the same time (I stream live to both). Like and Follow my FB Page and/or Subscribe to my YouTube Channel. I'd love to have you - the live community is AMAZING and so much fun! If you live in Canada and would like to purchase any of the items I used for my cards, just click any of the pictures below and you will be taken to my online store. Thank you! I appreciate your support! Have a stampy day! Today is the sketch challenge at SCS (SC390). I really wanted to use the pretty patterned paper from Summer Smooches (vertical strip), and originally paper pieced Lucy dress with the same paper ... but it didn't stand out enough. So I removed the DP and colored in her dress with ink and blender pen. I definitely need more practice with coloring hair ... this didn't turn out very good. But to be fair, I only have a couple of colors of ProMarkers, so I was limited and tried to add more colors on top using the Stampin' Write markers. Something I learned ... Promarkers and SWM do not mix well ... :) Next time I'll stick with one or the other. Here's the sketch: "Butterfly Lucy" Stamp: Butterfly Lucy (C.C. Designs) Paper: Real Red, Watercolor, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Summer Smooches DP (SU!) Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Creamy Caramel, Soft Suede (SU!); Promarkers Ivory, Vanilla, Apricot (Letraset) Accessories & Tools: Clear embossing powder, heat tool, Big Shot, Oval die (Spellbinders), Butterfly embosslits (Sizzix), 1/4" Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbon, Polka-dot embossing folder (Sizzix), Crystal Effects, blender pen, orange glitter glue, white gel pen, adhesives, sticky strips, glue dots and dimensionals Here's a close-up of Lucy ... I stamped the image in Basic Black onto watercolor paper and clear embossed. I colored in Lucy's face, hands, legs and hair with Promarkers. I used Stampin' Write markers to color the butterfly, Lucy's shoes, hair accessories and add more colors to her hair. I used ink and a blender pen to color in Lucy's dress. I added white polka-dots to Lucy's dress with the white gel pen. I covered her hair accessories with Crystal Effects to make them shiny ... and added orange glitter glue on top of the butterfly. The oval was die-cut with Whisper White and then run through the Big Shot with the polka-dot embossing folder. Everything was mounted as per the photo above.

Een paar gezellige kippenkaarten gemaakt. Made a few chicken shaped cards. Via Pinterest vond ik HIER een gratis patroontje. Ze zijn supersnel klaar. Found a pattern for these quick and easy cards through Pinterest. HERE Een strook papier in tweeën gevouwen. Patroontje tegen de vouwlijn gelegd en uitgeknipt. Folded a piece of paper in half. Put the pattern on the fold and cut the chicken out. Een eigen draai gegeven aan de vleugels. Een hart geknipt uit bijpassend papier en dubbel gevouwen. Did some changes on the wings. I cut a heart out of matching paper and folded it in half. Voor de kam een hartje achter de kaart geplakt. De snavel is aan de binnenkant geplakt. Used a heart punch for the comb. Glued it to the back of the card. Glued the beak to the inside of the card. Eigenlijk zijn het kaartjes maar zo samen op een tafeltje zorgen ze voor wat paassfeer :) A few of these chickens on a table at home provide an instant Easter feeling :)
