If you love to sew then you probably long for a sewing room. The next best thing is a sewing cabinet or sewing table that fits nicely into your home.
#SewingRoomDeclutter2019 If there was a reality show called "The Great Sewing Room Declutter", I'm not ashamed to admit that I'd probably watch it. Who am I kidding? I'd definitely tune in and watch it. Imagine a dozen or so quilters (contestants) having to declutter, clean and dispose of TOO MANY sewing bits and pieces to win the ultimate sewing prize. Each week, one would be eliminated, Survivor-style, with the others voting them out. It'd need a catchy catch-phrase to go with the elimination. I haven't decided what the prize would be yet either. Hmmm... perhaps this idea needs to be put forward to some tv executives.... Hah! So anyways, it's been a while since I checked in here. I had all the best intentions of getting a lot of sewing done and I did get some finished (and posted to my publisher). And then the mid-year school holidays started. We happened to visit Ikea early on in the holidays and hubby bought me one of those tables with a winder that can be adjusted up and down. I can sit and sew or I can stand and sew. It's pretty cool and I finally have the machine at the proper height for me. The arrival of the new sewing table into my studio meant that I had to move the old table, which started a domino effect in our whole house. Everyone has been involved in the "Great Declutter of 2019". We've spent 2 weeks rearranging furniture, cleaning, decluttering. Trips to the charity shops to give away things which are too 'good' to just throw away. Trips to the tip to dispose of what couldn't be saved. The problem with decluttering, rearranging and cleaning is the amount of mess you make in the process. Now that it's all nice, it's time to sew again. With a week remaining of July, lets see if I can finish some of my OMG wish-list.
