-- Fisherman's Castle on the Irish Bayou in Louisiana was built by Simon Hubert Villemarrette in 1981. He originally planned tourist attraction for the 1984 Worlds Fair in New Orleans.it sits on the Irish Bayou and It survived both Hurricane Katrina and Isaac. . It was built to withstand 140 mile-an-hour winds. Currently, Charles and Jean Kuhl live inside. They bought the castle in 1995. Once it’s all fixed up they would like to turn the castle into a bed and breakfast
