Androgens released by the Leydig cells, in the spaces between the seminiferous tubules, flow into the blood, bind to plasma proteins and circulate in the blood system for an hour. The testosterone diffuses through the tubules, in the testes, along with FSH, and promotes the development of sperm. LH stimulates Leydig cell's production of androgens, while FSH stimulates the sertoli cell production of spermatozoa. Inhibin produced by sertoli cells inhibit FSH release.
