Here is a collection of Dwarven weaponry I 3D modeled for the Hobbit movies. Sadly I can't show any of the 3d models only a select few photos of final props. All of these weapons were made under the tightest and craziest deadlines and the whole team put in an amazing effort to create these. For most of these the 3d file was used to CNC mill out a master which was then model made to have lots of nice texture and wear and tear, it then goes to be silicon moulded and finally cast in a urethane rubber. (some of the weapons will have aluminium blades CNC milled out and then have the handle cast on) before finally making it way to paint where it really comes to life, before it leaves the shop and goes straight on set.

The Dwarven crossbows are something I designed the visuals and the functional mechanism for, they are a bit silly but it was a fun brief. (there is a huge amount of hidden rubber hose in there lol.)
