The festivity season is here, and it's time to celebrate with utmost joy! The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is an auspicious Hindu celebration filled with great fervour and devotion. Ganesh Chaturti is an important festival in northern and Southern parts of India. In the south, it is called Vinayakar Chaturti. At the same time, the mention of lord Ganesha is found in the Rigveda, which means guardian of multitudes. The origin of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi is the birth of lord Ganesha. The festival was first observed in Pune in the 1630s during the rule of king Shivaji. Till the 18th to 19th centuries, the celebration of Ganesh was a private family celebration until Indian freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak appealed to celebrate it publicly. Since then, the Ganesh Chaturti celebration has been taking place in the streets of Maharashtra. Celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi In Hindu mythology, the celebration of Ganesh Chaturti involves 4 rituals: Pranapratishhtha, Shhodashopachara, Uttarpuja and Ganpati Visarjan. The first ritual is called Pranaprathishhtha, where the idol of Ganesha is created from clay. Further, the idol is placed in the house in the pattern of 5,7 or 11 days; during this time, people perform prayers and devotional songs followed by aarthi. The second is the Shhodashopachara, which includes 16 types, and the devotees perform prayers and offer sweets. The third ritual, the Uttarpuja is done on the final day before the immersion of the idol. Where the devotees carry the idol from home to the water in the pandal. And the final ritual is the Visarjan, where the Ganesha idol is immersed in the sea. These rituals remind people that everything is boundless and formless, like water and that nothing is permanent. This time the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi 2022 is huge, and with extreme devotion, the festival creates a positive vibe. The Festive Face of Ganesh Chaturti 2022.
