The Los Angeles auction house Profiles in History said it plans to sell one of motorcycle stunt rider Evel Knievel's custom leather riding suits, and the helmet he wore during one of his most famous jumps, at its December 15-16 sale, "Drama, Action, Romance: The Hollywood Auction."

Evel Knievel was the pioneer of distance motorcycle jumping. And for his efforts, he paid the price. He crashed more than 20 times and suffered numerous injuries, mostly broken bones.
