I never realized how crazy beautiful these birds were until I saw one in person. I really love this shot because it captures the male with peak breeding color around the eyes and the amazing flight feathers usually seen only from behind. Here, the Anhinga turned all the way around so I could capture a good head angle with his crest blown up in the breeze. Be sure to zoom in on his amazing red eye!
