Built to a tight budget on a nondescript suburban block, this four-unit housing development – a pilot project designed for women over 55 at risk of aging into poverty – is a reminder that a “simple, humble” project can be a potent force for change.

Present Forms is a studio led by Stephanie Lin and based in Brooklyn, New York. Our work combines artistic and architectural modes of thinking, ranging in scale from buildings and interiors to installations and objects. Many of our projects explore crossings of subtle geometries and optical materialities as mediums for new perceptual frameworks and spatial types. Present Forms is a founding member of Office III, a design collective with Sean Canty and Ryan Golenberg. In 2017 the three were finalists in the MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program.
