Howdy. How're you holding up? Are you doing all the things? Workin' hard, playing hard? I hope so, but if not that's OK, too. Come on in, I have a big virtual couch with squashy pillows with your name on it. Take a rest, take a breather. You're allowed to fall apart a little here. You're allowed to be a warrior, a potato, or anything in-between. Know why? Because you are enough. You are enough. So if you need to turn off the news or take a break from social media or quit the internet entirely for your own sanity and self-care, then Sweet Stay Puft, do it. Don't let anyone, no matter how well-intentioned, shame you into self-harm. Put the oxygen mask on yourself first, THEN you can help others. And while you're here resting up, let's look at some of the happy, ridiculous, and geeky things that made me smile this week: ***** The FB group Weird Second-Hand Finds continues to never disappoint. Just look at Crystal's thrift-store find: :D ***** DC Comics released 12 free coloring pages you can download by 3 different artists, and I love these art styles! I'm especially chuffed because I've been a fan of both Zullo & Uminga for years: Chrissie Zullo Joëlle Jones Chris Uminga Here's the download link for the full-size images. If you color any please tag me or share on FB so I can see! ***** If you're lucky enough to have the Baby Yoda doll by Mattel, then here's a handy leggy tutorial: I swear it looks happier in the "After." I know it's just the camera angle, but dang that's impressive. D'awww. I definitely see the advantage if you're dressing it up in baby clothing, haha. Head over to BabyYodaWonderland on Instagram to see more. ***** This might be an old one by Obvious Plant, but it seemed appropriate after the Baby Yoda legs: :D I'm not the only one who wants to design my own version for gag gifts, right? ***** I'm always looking for new ways I can use my Cricut, so this is next on my list to try: This tutorial on Cosplay Central will show you how to use your Cricut to score designs on craft foam! I've tried this freehand before on my Rose Bracers, but the Cricut can do vastly more intricate designs. I'm thinking of trying something to look like a carved leather wall-hanging. Maybe like a map of Middle Earth? Any other suggestions? ***** Julianna M. shared this on the Replica Prop Forum FB page: Just for kicks she made her very own LEGO Batman figure that's two and a half feet tall: This brings me great joy. He's even fully articulated, and comes apart like a real LEGO figure! Now all he needs is a LEGO lobster on a plate. ***** Hobbit fans, this video is absolutely incredible. Stick with it, the end result is SO worth three minutes of your time: Jaw: Dropped ***** This next video is from a million years ago - that's how long it's been since April, right? - but it's just SO ridiculous and I bet you could use these giggles: Stick with it 'til at least 2:30, that's when it starts getting really funny - and then stick with it 'til the end, because her final Dramatic Hamster poses are hysterical. ***** And finally, your peaceful moment of "OMG IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!" The Pallas Cat Gryphon by Pixxus EEEEE! Really tempted to stick some cosplay wings on Suki now. Happy weekend, friends! Remember to be kind out there, to yourself and to others. ***** PS. In case you don't have your own Baby Yoda from Mattel - did you know it's only $25? Because I didn't. And now I need one. (Hint hint, John.) Star Wars "The Child" Soft Figure I can't sew, of course, but I still want to make it some legs and then dress it up in various cosplays. Can't you just imagine a Baby Yoda Ghostbuster? With a teeny proton pack? Ermergersh.
