I create imaginative works of art by combining many photos into one surreal digital compilation. Most of the images I create develop in my mind as a result of feelings I experience at certain moments of my life. I'm not very good at communicating my feelings, so I have a genuine need to express my stories through the art I create. The feelings can be embarrassing or even childlike, and by utilizing these emotions, I can make some pretty interesting art. When a person views my art, I want it to stir up thoughts and feelings. For me, if that does not happen, then it, as a piece of art, was unsuccessful.
Anime has a long history of portraying the majority of its female characters as weak, or worse, useless. Most of them are based on being the male protagonist’s love interest or some cute character people can simp on but have no real purpose for the plot. This has reinforced stereotypes and contributed to the idea that women need men to protect them. Or that they’re incapable of doing anything useful except being the pretty trophy waiting at home. And even when they’re not, female anime characters are often mistreated and aren’t given a great storyline or background that could allow viewers to relate to them.
