LCS elementary art storage cabinet, built and photographed by me. It's constructed of 11/16" birch and 3/16" luan (mahogany) plywood. Joints are all dado/rabbet + glue. The only nails used were to hold the back panel on. The cabinet is 70" tall, 52" wide, and 16" deep. It's finished with two coats of spar varnish. There are slots inside each column to allow insertion of removable shelves every 1.5" for storage of flat (paper) art work up to 24" wide. These shelves are 3/16" thick. There are also pin holes every 3" to allow relocating heavy duty (11/16" thick) shelves. The slots and pin holes run up both sides to allow maximum flexibility, but the cabinet is currently configured with thin shelves on the left and HD shelves on the right. The middle shelf on each side is fixed in order to keep the uprights from flexing side to side.
