I have to tell you all if you didn’t know already that my favourite social media platform at the moment is Pinterest – it is so visual and I take a lot of inspiration from it. This is what happened when I found the below Pin: These are the materials we used: TP rolls wash tape – I had two designs: the geometrical one and the silver one; glittery foam – cut in the shapes you like: hearts, rounds etc. I think that the images are explaining the craft but f you have any other questions please let me know. These are great as jewellery boxes for little kids don’t you think? Here are the links to the original pins: Follow Otilia Stocks’s board Crafts on Pinterest. Like this Article? These handprint lilies are so beautiful and surprisingly easy to make! They'd make such a thoughtful handmade gift idea for Mother's Day if you make a small bouquet and tie them together with a ribbon. Or you could make a bouquet of handprint Easter lilies if you use white paper. Can Easter lilies be pink? I think they're just white? Either way, they're adorable for spring and they're a wonderful low mess craft to make with the kids! I had such an awesome helper when I made these paper handprint lilies! My spunky 5 year old loves crafts, and she
Today I'm going to show you how to make pinwheels - they are so pretty and they really spin! These are a simple, summertime craft project you can make with household materials. Since I wanted to make these for my kids, I really needed to find a way to make sure the pinwheel wouldn't break apart and send pieces flying everywhere! This method works beautifully! I had posted another pinwheel project before, but I just wasn't happy with the results. You can check out my other paper pinwheels tutorial here, but keep in mind that I much prefer this new
Today's ornament is an origami flower I saw one time made out of money. I changed it up a bit as you'll see. These flowers are far quicker than the last poinsettia I showed you and they are pretty spiffy once they are finished. Best of all, it only takes 2 or 3 supplies!! 25 Days of Hand Made Ornaments #15 - Origami Poinsettia's Supplies: 3 pieces - 2 5/8" x 6 1/4" Red Cardstock or Paper Wire Stamens (optional) Instructions: 1. Starting on the short ends, fold each end in 1/2 - 1" Both ends should be folded the same (both 1/2", both 3/4", etc.). (sorry for the rotten pic) 2. Fold in half length wise, crease and open back up again. 3. Fold the short ends in towards the center crease - just like you were making a paper air plane. Do this on both ends as shown. 4. Now fold each of the long sides in half meeting at the original center crease as shown in the photo. 5. Fold at the original center crease. NOTE: By this time if you used cardstock it is getting very thick so you may have to go over the crease using a bone folder. 6. Fold so the points meet each other. Creasing here is not necessary. Just a pinch fold will be fine. This is to help fan the petals out in the finishing steps. 7. Now repeat steps 1-6 for the remaining two pieces of paper. You should end up with three sets of petals once you are done. Each piece of paper will create two petals once you are finished. 8. (optional) Add the stamen by poking a hole in the center of one set of petals. Tie a wire around the stamen and slide it into the hole as shown. Close the sides back up to hide the wire. 9. Hold all three sets of petals side by side. If you added stamen to one set of petals, this set should be the center petals. Wrap a piece of wire around all three sets twice and twist at the bottom. The excess wire will form the stem and you're way to attach the finished flower to your tree, gift or other object. 10. Spread the petals out so they are spaced evenly. 11. Open and flatten each petal ~ this is when your poinsettia will take shape. I really like using cardstock because once you reach this step the cardstock holds it's shape very well. You don't have to worry about tearing the paper or fussing with the petals to make them look nice. And you're finished! It's shown here with the crepe paper poinsettia I made the other day. This is a really quick technique for creating cool looking poinsettias to add to your home decor, tree, gifts, etc. You can of course use this technique with money instead of paper but please don't add the stamen...the government frowns on poking holes in it ;) LOL!! Be sure if you haven't posted in the Optical Lens Give-A-Way yet you still have a bit of time to do so. I'll be drawing the winner tomorrow :) I'll also have another ornament to share with you tomorrow as well as some vintage postcards! Hope to see you then!! Take care and have a great weekend!!

Every year, I enjoy coming up with a new way to package little surprises and activity cards for our advent calendar. My girls wake up delighted at the thought of opening tiny presents and treats as we count down until Christmas morning. I was scrolling through advent ideas on the ol’ Internet last week, and…

Doesn't that title just make you smile? Hello everyone and welcome to my little crafting corner! I hope you had a fabulous weekend and are all rested up for a new week. I just got home last night from a wonderful 2 days of Copic Marker Classes with the awesome instructor Sherrie Siemens. This year for my Valentines Day gift, my sweet hubby agreed to travel 6 hours, by car, with a puppy, to Orlando so that I could attend these classes! Is he a keeper or what? So, my head is still just bursting with information, tips and techniques and I hope once I recover from the trip I can put some of this info to good use! Ok, on to today's post...... Recipe: * I found these cute little light bulbs at Hobby Lobby and filled them with yellow jelly beans. *My tags are from the Silhouette Online Store and the light bulb paper is from the "Monsters and Robots" paper stack by Recollections (perfect paper for this release by the way!) * The fun light bulb stamps are from the Peachy Keen Stamp set PKSC-14 (February 2013). I colored the bulbs with Copic markers and added a bit of silver stickles to the "metal" portion of the bulb. I cut 2 bulbs for each tag and used pop dots to layer them for a bit of dimension. * The fun sentiment is from February's Mid-Month Release. The stamp set is called "Made on Planet Earth Sentiments" (PK-186) This is such a fun stamp set.... *For the finishing touches on my light bulbs, I added some silver Stickles to the top of my tag and tied them on with a bit of "Lemon Tart" twine from Trendy Twine. I just love the way these turned out! Finally a treat that I can give to the guys - not a hint of pink or flowers anywhere! Ok, I'm finished up here, but before I go I need to remind you about the sale going on right now at Peachy Keen Stamps - Kathy has an awesome sale going on and you don't want to miss it! The sale ends 2-19-13 so be sure to head on over and take advantage of the savings! I hope you have an awesome day and I'll be seeing you soon! Until next time,
