It costs companies a lot of money to have machines out of operation due to failure. This applies to press shops, too, the focus of Fraunhofer's Presswerk 4.0 project. Researchers want to employ targeted data networking in manufacturing to help employees recognize and correct failures more quickly – and reduce failure-related downtimes by at least half. Smart, connected machines balance out disturbances so that material that normally lands in the scrap pile can be processed.

“This is a ballet that tells a real, powerful story — it’s not a bunch of fluff around a title that everyone knows,” said Tulsa Ballet artistic director Marcello Angelini.

I've been going through old sketches and finding some decent line drawings that need some color. The aquatic lighting viscom was a new challenge that was fun to explore. Surfaces act optically very differently underwater. Things essentially become matte in general. Had good reference of a deep sea sub where the lighting illuminated the nearby water with an ethereal glow which I wanted to incorporate. Also, another opportunity to use some of my alchohol dyes on plastic texture scans for the otherwordly alien ocean imagery.

folks, you don’t have to work for the road crew or a construction company to sport some of that industrial flair. Urban Construction Aesthetic brings heavy equipment style to the street. Durable, attention grabbing and comes in two colors: orange or yellow. Personalize with a splash of color.

In the 1970s, our family had a quirky and humble little Renault R8, which was a good family and kindergarten carpool package solution to the gas crisis years. Since then, I've always had nostalgia for the car- this box fender version was something I daydreamed and sketched out four years earlier. Finally took a day to render it fully in box-kit illo style. A car that never existed, but should.
Wanting to do my own tribute to a blower Bentley 8, I struggled with getting "new" out of the essence of the vintage, tall, high riding platform. Finally deciding to abandon tall wheels was the aha moment that broke my thumbnail quagmire (at least 30 dead-end sketch directions.) Smooshing the tapering nose volume to nearly two dimensional proportions and running it through the Ed Newton filter made it gel.
