SAB (Sale-a-bration) officially starts in January, but for us demonstrators it started today, Dec. 1. A free SAB item is given from the SAB brochure with every $60 purchased. One of the first SAB items I got was the Friendly Hello stamp set and the coordinating Hello Friendly DSP. Below is the first card I made with those products: The bird and flower and leaves were coloured with Stampin' Blends, picking up the colours from the DSP - Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, and Pale Papaya, with Garden Green for the leaves. The splatter in the back ground was made with Misty Moonlight ink. After die cutting the image with the Hippo & Friends die, it was added to the card front with dimensionals. The Pool Party card base, was layered with Pool Party embossed with the Texture embossing folder. A piece of DSP, layered with Basic white card stock, was added to the left side of the card front. The sentiment, from Itty Bitty Birthday was die cut with the Stitched Rectangle die and added below the image. Supplies Used: Stamps: Friendly Hello, Itty Bitty Birthdays Inks: Black Memento, Stampin' Blends (Pool Party, Pale Papaya, Garden Green, Misty Moonlight) Papers: Pool Party, Basic White, Hello Friendly DSP Accessories: Hippo & friends Dies, Stitched Rectangle dies, dimensionals, Pool Party ribbon, Texture embossing folder

These friendly cards make a cute "get well" gift from a group, like coworkers, or from a couple. They are also great as an encouragement card for anyone you're rooting for. The outside text reads "We're rooting for you" with a handpainted watercolor garden of smiling root vegetables, and the insides are blank. You can also select these as bulk get well card sets available in the options as well. I hand painted this card in watercolor and ink, then printed it in the United States in a small batch using sustainably-produced, high quality, thick linen weave paper. The envelope is a brown kraft paper. The cards are size a2 (4.25" x5.5"). ©JollyColors

No new products today – just some great examples of how you can create beautiful projects where the die-cuts are the stars of the show. I had fun creating backgrounds to show off the Friendly Silhouettes Dies. Let me walk you through them. For these first two projects, I masked a circle using a punched/die-cut sticky note, then brayered the background using Crushed Curry and Poppy Parade ink pads. You could sponge, too – but if you do, make sure you sponge away from the centre of the mask or you could dislodge it. For the top card, I then lightly splashed with water from a fine paintbrush. Allow to dry, then dab it dry with a tissue. This creates this lovely effect which can look like seed heads blowing on the breeze, fireflies, rain or, on a dark blue background, like snow. It’s such a simple effect and so versatile. For this card, I brayered as before, but instead of splashing, I used that same very fine paintbrush to paint fine lines following the edge of the circle. With ideas clearly way above my station, I call this the Van Gogh technique. For the third card, I took the leftover template from the bullrushes in the first card and used this as a mask. I sponged with Pumpkin Pie to create a background image, then removed the mask and brayered around the top edge of the card in Melon Mambo. The beauty of brayering is that you can give it a go in any colours and get some lovely effects. Want to have a go at fun techniques like this? If you’re in the UK, why not talk to me about joining my remote classes?

Hi Everyone, I saw this card on Mixed Up Crafts and thought I'd have a go, it's really simple but very effective. I've made this one for a very special lady for her birthday. Let me show you how I made it. Materials 2 pieces of thick white card 6" square 1 piece of basic white 4" square, 8 pieces 2" square, 1 piece 3" square, 1 piece 2 1/2" square, 1 piece 2 1/2" x 2" 4 pieces of dsp (Friendly Hello) 1 3/4" square 2 pieces of granny apple green card 5 3/4"" square, 4 pieces 1 3/4" square 1 piece of acetate 6" x 6 1/2" Scraps of daffodil delight Tulip dies Flowering Tulips stamp set Memento Black ink Brass Butterflies Mini glue dots Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine Gingham Embossing Folder Trimmer Simply Scored Bone Folder Multipurpose adhesive Dimensionals Tear and Tape/Red line tape Instructions Add the granny apple green mats to both pieces of thick white card. Add the dsp squares to 4 of the basic white squares. Run the 4 green squares through the machine in the Gingham Embossing Folder and then adhere them to the remaining 4 white squares. On the long side score the acetate at 6" and fold and burnish. Arrange the 2" square mats with dsp in a diamond orientation so that each of them is level with top or bottom and sides, stick them in place with a dimensional. Layer over the 4 embossed ones in between the dsp ones as shown in the picture. Stamp a sentiment across the centre of the smaller remaining white square (see picture) and then layer up on the granny apple green and then the larger white. Add to the front as shown using more dimensionals. Add red line tape/tear and tape to the inside of the tab on the acetate and then stand it in front of one of the card layers and fold the tab over the top of this so it secures on the back. Take the small tab piece of white card and on the long side score at 1/"2 1 1/4" and 2" and fold in a concertina to make an M shape. Add one side of the M to the back centre of the acetate layer with red line/tear and tape and then fix the other side with adhesive to the granny apple green. This forms a stopper inside the card to stop it falling over when displayed. Add a piece of red line tape/tear and tape to the back of the card over the acetate tab and then add the remaining white pieces with the granny apple green mat showing on the back. Add the remaining 4" square piece of white to the centre of this to write your message. Die cut two tulips from the daffodil delight and put them together with mini glue dots which will give them some dimension and then add them to the sentiment piece on dimensionals. Add some brass butterflies to finish the card. This will go into an envelope when folded flat but I have made a box for it (1 piece of card 6 1/4" square, 1 piece 6 5/16" square, scored on all four sides at 1", cut up the tabs at each corner and glue in place).
