The last time I posted regarding this quilt, I thought I was almost finished. After all, I had both the front & the back "done". Thank You & More The front, however, sat on my design wall for a long time because it just didn't seem ... well, like "me". So I added a pieced border & loved it! (At last count there were 95 different fabrics in the top.) When it came to the quilting, I ran into trouble. It seemed like organic vertical lines would work. But they didn't & for the first time ever I picked out every last stitch over a three day period. Additionally, the quilt seemed too puffy which I felt detracted from the design so I switched the batting. And then there was the pieced back which needed to be enlarged because of the border & although I was happy with how it turned out, maybe between the front & the back, there were just too many seams for my home machine to handle. So I made a new back & plan to turn the first back into a new quilt. Here's the final finish which I love! A friend asked me if I would donate it to a fundraiser which I did. Here's hoping someone else will love it, too!

Vintage Handmade Quilt My Grandmothers Patchwork Quilt Fusion Pattern Fabric Crochet Blanket Fashion Comforter Retro Farm Wall Art Modern Unique Vintage Fusion Quilt. This is not just a quilt, but a piece of American Art. The fusion of two craft art forms - quilting and crocheting make this a very special item. The small 1" squares of material are connected to each other by crocheted yarn of various colors. Many hours of work must have gone into the production of this one of a kind piece of folk art. Overall measurement is 66" x 46" The squares are backed and some of the backing material is fraying as shown in last photo, which just adds to its vintage look. However if this is not just for display, but for everyday use, I would put a cotton or wool backing on the entire piece. Truly a one of a kind piece of vintage fabric art. fusion blanket crochet quilted crochet how to crochet quilt squares crochet quilt kit how to crochet around a blanket crochet edge flannel blanket folk art quilts for sale crochet fusion quilt pattern crochet fabric quilt blanket pattern fabric fusion quilt pattern american Americana

Okay everyone! This long time anticipated crochet quilt tutorial is finally available! (happy jig!) My friend Tiffany of Fanny Lu Designs took the time to put together the most thorough and detaile…
This is the quilt I made for my nephew. He asked for Orange and Purple. I made a Rail Fence quilt from Sujata's book. Some of the curves in my strips were a little more than "subtle," and I built the blocks to emphasize that craziness, after all the quilt is orange and purple, a color combination that has nothing to do with "subtle." I made left leaning blocks, and right leaning blocks, then rotated and alternated them. At least, that's what I think I did. Anyway, the result is called "Lightning in the Night Sky." and because this quilt is going to a college-bound kid, I made sure to put his name on it.
