Part of my desert worldbuilding project. These are sketches for an area in a different part of the desert from the canyons. An unusual current of charged magical energy flows through this part of the desert sky, visible only at night. Resulting in mirages during the day and beautiful lights in the sky at night as well as many changes to the local fauna and landscape. It’s name comes from the driftwood that has collected in this area due to the sand/wind currents resulting in some denser bramble-like areas. The driftwood itself has petrified due to the magical energy in the atmosphere and causes many anomalies. The sands are constantly shifting patterns in their currents but are not dangerous.
