This is a print of the FULL PAINTING of "The Milk Vetch". There are separate listings in Etsy for just the right side, or just the left side. The milk vetch is a botanical species known for thriving in harsh environments. I became enthralled with these creatures after being introduced to them in Barbara Kingsolver’s novel Unsheltered. "The Milk Vetch" portrays a wild garden surrounded by the shadows of manmade structures attempting to contain it. Despite the efforts to harness the brambles, mother nature thrives in her stalwart errand of growth, indifferent to constructed boundaries. Ironically, the canvas employed for this painting was sitting in my Colorado basement during a flash flood that destroyed much of its contents last year. Since my neighborhood’s establishment in the 1940s, this kind of natural event had never occurred. Climate change is beginning to rear its head everywhere we look. As the canvas emerged miraculously undamaged I can’t help but compare it to the milk vetch - thriving in the face of a hostile environment, just like the feral garden that now flourishes on its face. The original (pictured in second listing image) was painted with acrylic, watercolor, ink and gouache on canvas ---- PRINT DETAILS: - This is an archival print of my original painting. - Each print is signed on the front. - Frame and mat are NOT included. - All of my prints are produced with professional art materials including pigment-based inks and archival Somerset Velvet fine art paper. -In order to keep your print in great condition it is important to frame with archival materials (mats, backing board, etc.), keep out of direct sunlight, and UV glass if you really want to go all-out! SIZE: - Paper is larger than the listed size, as there is a ~1.25" white border around the actual image to enable easier matting, or float mounting to display the deckled edges of the paper. - Image itself is shrunk down ~1/4" from size listed to expose signature line when matted or framed in the corresponding standard sized mat/frame. ---- SHIPPING: Shipped USPS Priority Mail. Print will be ROLLED and packaged in a sturdy art shipping tube. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: If you're placing an order for shipment outside of the United States, you may be required to pay additional VAT or customs fees. Some countries may require that the parcel be picked up from a local customs office to remit these fees. As an Etsy seller, I have no visibility into these international practices nor can I predict what the fees will be, I’m sorry! Please check this web page out to learn more about international customs fees: https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015691007-Custom-Duties-and-Import-VAT?segment=selling
