I made this card for a customer's card class I held yesterday. It is a gate fold card. I love different types of card styles and this one is super easy for such a lovely appearance. The folded card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Start with a piece that measures, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Then score along the 8 1/2" @ 2 1/8" on each end of the of 8 1/2" length. The DSP is from this year's Sale-A-Bration and the other colors used are Pool Party, Blackberry Bliss (retiring) and White. The stamp sets used are Papillion Potpourri & Petite Pairs. I also used the 2" circle punch and the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch. Convert inches to cm here
Hello... It seems lock down is the only chance I get to add a post on here.😏 Or in this case I was going to organize a class at home... that was until the lock down happened. So now it's a post with some photos and a video instead. I hope it helps. This Floating Gate Fold Card was inspired by Dawn Griffth Measurements at the end of the page. Hey Birthday Chick Stampin' Blends: Light & Dark Blackberry Bliss Light & Dark So Saffron Light & Dark Mango Melody Light & Dark Pumpkin Pie Light Crumb Cake Colour Lifter Hey Birthday Chick Stamp set All the basic pieces of cardstock to make the card, not including extra white cardstock for chickens to be stamped, die cut and added to finished card. Please note: The measurement above are what I used in the video with one slight difference to the measurements at the end of the page. In the video (and above) the white pop-up panels are 1" x 5" in size and are scored at 1", 2" and 4". This measurement fits better into this card base. I think the original card base may have been 8 1/4" or 8 1/2" long, but I altered it to work better for me. Hi Everyone, Welcome to my Fun Fold Friday series and this week I have made a Floating Gate Fold card using dsp from the Regals paper stack and the Dressed to Impress stamp set and dies. Let me show you how I made it and you can click on the link below to take you to my YouTube tutorial: https://youtu.be/Rt53n0Udtxk Materials 1 piece of real red card stock 6" x 12", 1 piece 3" x 22 and scraps to stamp on 1 piece of whisper white 5 3/4" square, 2 pieces 2 3/4" x 5 3/4", 1 piece 2 3/4" x 1 3/4", 2 pieces 1 1/2" x 5" and scraps for stamping 2 pieces of real red dsp 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" Dressed to Impress stamp set Real red ink Memento black ink All dressed up dies Stampin Cut and Emboss machine Trimmer Simply scored Bone folder Multipurpose adhesive Happiest of Birthdays stamp set Dimensionals Instructions On the long side, score the real red card stock at 3" and 9" and fold and burnish to make your card base. Stamp your sentiment in the centre of the large piece of whisper white and adhere to the centre of the card base which will be the inside. Score the 1 1/2" x 5" strips of whisper white on the long side at 1", 3" and 4" and fold and burnish. Add adhesive to the 1st section (up to the 1" mark) and adhere to the inside of the card, on the gate (see picture), add the other one to the opposite gate towards the bottom of the card. Now fold these pieces on the 3" score line and add glue to the final section leaving the 2" section and a 1" section clear of adhesive and close the gate. This should adhere them to the gate and to the inside of the card so that you have a floating base at the top and the bottom, see picture. Add the mats and layers to the card fronts, leaving equal borders all the way around the edges. Stamp a perfume bottle, a pair of shoes and a lipstick in real red on whisper white card. Then stamp a perfume bottle and a pair of shoes on real red card with memento black ink. Die cut all of these shapes. Adhere the real red ones to the floating bases on the inside of the card and the whisper white ones to the card fronts as shown in the pictures. Now stamp a sentiment from the happiest of Birthdays stamp set on the final piece of whisper white card and add some flowers from Dressed to Impress around the edges. You can also add some of these flowers inside the card too. Adhere this stamped layer to the remaining real red layer and then using dimensionals on the left hand side only, adhere to the card front towards the top. This is my sample card using melon mambo, which do you prefer? If you would like to see more of my Blog Posts, sign up to the email alert over in the right hand side bar of the page. Here, is my latest Design Team post for the Cut It Up Challenge Blog using Mist with a die cut. This was a tricky one for me, as I only own one bottle of Tattered Angel's Mist, which I have used only once before! I used a Curved Edge Gate Fold Card Base from the Pazzles Craft Room, which comes in svg and wpc file format. This is such a pretty shaped Gate Fold card, which I cut using Kraft Card with my Pazzles Inspiration Vue cutting machine. I then layered some pretty Kaisercraft papers on the panels and the inside of the base card. The Curved Edge Gate Fold Card Base is included in the Spring Card Cutting Collection in the Pazzles Craft Room. I cut out the butterfly cutting files using different papers in the Kaisercraft, Oh So Lovely collection. I used my Tattered Angels Mist to give some shine to the bottom layer of the butterfly wings. It was difficult to photograph, but it looks ever so pretty. I couldn't stop there, and used my glimmer mist on the flowers and leaves! I added a paper rose from my stash and some pearls on one of the panels. Lots of dimension on this card but I hope you like it. Please hop over to the Cut It Up Challenge Blog and take a look at the rest of the Design Team projects and be inspired. The theme for the new challenge is "Mist-y" You must use mist on your project, such as Perfect Pearls mist, Glimmer Mist, Color Shine, or your own homemade mist. And don't forget the DIE CUT!
