This is a fumed vortex glass marble, sometimes called a chaos marble, with silver and gold used to create wisps of golden greens and silvery blues. It features a large white opal asteroid and a sprinkle of crushed opal. In the depths is just a touch of UV reactive colors (not shown in the photos). The back has a beautiful peacock pattern. The opals are lab grown. Diameter: 1 5/8" sphere (4.1cm) Our marbles are made by me - Charlie Shoulders, the artist, and they bear my signature. This is flamework, also known as lampwork. I use simple hand tools, a torch and borosilicate (boro) glass. All of our pieces are properly kiln-annealed overnight for durability. Our photos are usually taken with a flash, to better illustrate our coloring. Some colors, as well as irid and dichroic glasses are difficult to capture on camera. Please write with any questions.
