The caftan culture moved to Algeria by the Ottomans , the Algerians developed local types of the caftan. The Moroccans claim is like the claim of the French about the Moorish architecture because the Moors were in Spain. So they try to deny its Ottoman origin, but this claim is denied by their own books. The most famous of these is the book معلمة المغرب and the book in French, costume du maroc (p 44). the book The Algerians in Tetouan confirms that the caftan is an Algerian (p. 127).
