About The Artwork My ink painting technique is like our world. The predictable, planable and the unpredictable, unexpected happenings make it complete. It means I allow ink and water to create miracle on the paper. Man too is like this, a unity of rationality and emotion. Though in different share, but they create the wholeness in everyone. About The Artwork The title Fran refers to a dog I had years ago named Francisco. The dog, a whippet breed, lived with me for many years until it got sick and died. Dogs are faithful and inseparable friends. When my first daughter was born, Francisco was already among us. She lived with him until she grew up. This artwork is a tribute to the kind personality of this animal that brought so much joy to my home at that time. About The Artwork Limited Edition 1 of 10 + 1 AP signed and numbered on the back. Inkjet print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® with 3 cm white border. Have a Nice Day is an ongoing project since August 2010. It is an ongoing personal project since 2010. It is a series of digital artworks containing random pictures of anonymous people sourced from the internet. One very important theme in this series is to question personal identity and its fleeting characteristic in our modern times. This series can also be regarded as a form of digital recycling, as well as an ironic statement on how our perception of aesthetics has been greatly influenced by the digitally altered images from media. In my more recent and abstract pieces, I am interested in conveying certain scenes for the viewer to enter, triggering an expansive imagination of their own. The visual aspect of the work is engaging, almost in a physical way. Life Magazine Cover, 1922, Flapper Butterfly, FX Leyendecker, Brother to JC Leyendecker. Art Deco era art, antique magazine covers, 8x10" Canvas Print, fantasy art Colors will vary due to your monitor settings Free ship US You frame it! This art print was taken from a vintage painting, print, postcard or digital source. It is in the public domain in the US because the copyrights (if any) have expired. NOTE: Our prints are taken from an antique/vintage paintings, greeting cards, post cards etc.. Much of the time, these were originally printed on a soft and porous paper, which softened the images. They didn't have the technology back then to photo-shop and fix these images. That is why I chose to reproduce only antique art in it's original content (no photo-shop). I love the old school art. These are also paintings and drawings, and so the styles vary. The papers we use today, have special coatings so that they attract the inks or dyes well, and stop much of the seeping of the inks. Our new technologies print exactly what is on the scan of the original image. If you purchase canvas, it is made of cotton, and even though it also has this special coating, it is textured, and softens the look of the final result. It is archival, and of the highest quality, but is best for paintings since they were mostly created on artist canvas. It is important to note that if you are buying on your phone or tablet, the images you see are only tiny thumbnails, and so you can't really see the detail in the scan on the listing. If you can look on a computer, you can then see the depth and detail of the image you want. Artwork is not created equal, and sometimes there are clear and distinct lines, and other times the style is less detailed. Lastly, Colors will vary slightly, due to the difference in your monitor settings. Please zoom in on the image to see the detail. All quoted shipping costs are USA only. I will ship to your country, via first class intl. USPS, but please contact me for a quote before you buy. All art prints are custom designed to fit into a standard, modern frame. The openings on these frames are smaller than the listed size. Your print will be slightly larger than the opening. You can carefully trim it to fit your frame, and pop it in, with or without a mat. Each print is made as it is ordered. Please convo me if you need a specific size. I use real cotton artist's canvas, and the newest technology to enlarge the images, pixel x pixel. There is no stretching or skewing, Cotton canvas is textured in tiny squares, and produces a soft finish like a painting. Since it is fabric, it grabs the color for an extraordinary presentation. I use archival canvas, and special dyes to print each image. They will last 100 years under normal circumstances. Your monitor settings will vary from mine, so colors may look different to you than they really are. Color match technology produces exact colors to the image file used. NO stretching or mounting is needed. No need for expensive, custom framing. I use special, secure packing materials, to insure that your item arrives safely. I have been collecting and selling art prints for many years. I may have just what you are searching for. Just ask, and I will create a special listing, just for you. Thank you for your interest. Before reading this article, please check out my 'Language of Line' toolkit in my Amazon storefront by clicking here. It is filled with useful art supplies and wonderful books and resources. Everything you need to start exploring and teaching the language of line. Instructions: Fill each triangle in the worksheet below with a linear pattern from the worksheets provided here Below is a worksheet filled out by one of my students. Next scan or photograph the finished worksheet and print three copies of it on white card stock. Using liquid watercolors, paint a different color scheme on each sheet. Sheet 1: Every color you can mix using magenta and yellow Sheet 2: Every color you can mix using magenta and blue Sheet 3: Every color you can mix using blue and yellow Next: Cut up all three sheets into the triangles and put them in an envelope for safe keeping. Use the triangles to explore the 9 Principles of Design and Composition by arranging them on a black background. Here are a few more good videos on the Principles of Design: The Principles of Design are Balance, Emphasis, Movement, Pattern, Repetition, Proportion, Rhythm, Variety and Unity. Right click on the images below to open them full size in a new window. Using the worksheets and this blog post as a guide, create a series of collages with your triangles that express all the principles of design. You may use more than one principle in each design. In order for your design to be considered effective, other people need to be able to guess correctly which design principles your collage is addressing without you telling them. Many students are confused by the concept of 'Asymmetrical Balance'. Consider the worksheet below. We know the chairs on the right are balanced (obviously, there can be zero debate about that because if the arrangement were unbalanced the chairs would topple over), yet the design is not symmetrical (it's not the same on both sides). How can a design be balanced but not symmetrical? Often professional artists and designers will choose to use an asymmetrically balanced design over a symmetrical one because they wish to create a dynamic sense of movement in their artwork. The design on the right is more dynamic, while the one on the left is more static. If you feel the need to review the Elements of Art, before plunging in to the Principles of Design, this series by KQED Art School is excellent:
