Train boogie highpoly made for Horizon: Zero dawn. I had the honor to do the highpoly for this piece which served as a benchmark asset for the outsourcing vendors and ended up in the final game for the Ruins old world theme. The outsourcing artists took this piece applied an aging rust pass and made the low poly and textures. Special thanks to my Lead Alex Zapata Assets Art Director (https://www.artstation.com/artist/lexisflex73) for mentoring me during my time at Guerrilla Games and to Björn Kjerrgren Technical Asset Artist who provided me with these renders. ©2017 Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe. For this scene, we have utilized a custom shader and normals with a flexible system for material adjustment. This particular environment scene was inspired by "At the mountains of madness" novel which we decide to make a sci-fi twist on. We have also tested the Nvidia RTX technology which was recently added to UE4 that yielded great results for our environment scene.
