This monument, erected on Lansdown Hill near Bath commemorates Sir Bevil Grenville, the Royalist commander who was mortally wounded during the Battle of Lansdown in 1643 during the English Civil War. According to the website www.yournotme.com there are only 27 Bevil's on the British electoral register which includes my old mate from college days!
