GW2 norn

Assorted Mount Skins from the past few years. These are some of the skins I worked on that required more extensive sculpt work, others involved pattern changes or simpler model alterations. I am unfortunately very bad about rendering my work out and have built up quite the backlog, so Zbrush screengrabs it is. The Speckled Shortfang and Kourna Jackrabbit are built off bases originally sculpted by other artists. On each skin (with the exception of the Shimmerwing which had external concept support) I was responsible for concepting, sculpting, texturing and authoring of the final models. Hi-res sculpt of Jojo/Jormag from Guild Wars 2: The Icebrood Saga. I was responsible for sculpting and texturing this guy for use in cinematics and boss battle gameplay. Concept support by Zhengyi Wang. He's a big icey nose with tusks. The rest of the body is implied as serpentine so he was built with repeating neck sections. Had fun working with the big stylized jaw and multiple rows of shark teeth. One of his mega tusks is snapped off for lore reasons, the other end is a centerpiece within the Great Lodge in Hoelbrak.

Professions

Guild Wars 2 has been around for nearly 6 years, and if you’re a die-hard MMORPG player, chances are at some point you’ve tried it, and if you were initially taken with it, you may still be playing it today. For much of the rest of the MMORPG player base, they may have found their time in Tyria short-lived, banking on updates and changes to the game to entice them back.

Slightly older work, a 2018 skin for the Jackal mount in Guild Wars 2. A nine-tailed fox was pretty much the first thing that came to mind in regards to what to put on the jackal rig, as it seemed like an MMO staple that would offer up fun reference opportunities. I was also eager to play with stylized fur sculpting. It was definitely one of the more technically challenging skins though, with a lot of rig workarounds and animation time devoted to the tails. Initial concepts by Zhengyi Wang.

The first of my official industry work that I can finally put out! I got the chance to work on the Enchanted Skimmer for the recently revealed Wizards Vault. This design was pretty on model so the challenge for this was to incorporate patterning that falls in-line with the existing skinline while also fitting in a way that compliments the original model. Renders and some process images for GW2 Path of Fire's raptor mount. Might add some nicer high poly renders later. Initial concepting done by Carlyn Lim and originally made based on an enemy dino-rig from Heart of Thorns. This guy was the first mount finished and tested and changed a lot over the course of development.
