Hello blog land! I hope you have all had a fabulous Cyber Monday and Tuesday Sale! I picked up an awesome South Carolina Explorers Trading Cards file from Carrie Whitlock which you can purchase by clicking on the image below! I am so in love with this idea and we are just finishing this unit so I emailed her and asked if I could create an editable and printable template to post on my blog and she was so kind and generous to say yes! I recommend purchasing her file because it has an example and rubrics for Social Studies and Language Arts! Here is my editable file. You don't just have to use it on SC explorers. You could adapt it for anything! I inclded two versions. One version you can just print and let students write or draw in or you could let your students edit one on the computer adding pictures and text that you can manipulate any way you like! Just click the file above to download your copy! (Clipart is from Melonheadz Illustrations) On top of my trading card purchase, I also purchased tons of graphics from Ashley Hughes! I just love her cute clip art!! There are other things that made it into my shopping cart as well, but I'll save that for the Blog Hoppin' post! Happy almost Hump Day!!

This product is a great version of the classic classroom game with a Benchmark Sound Spelling Cards twist to it! The product includes 27 game cards. You may have 3 separate objectives for the game: (1) say the letter names, (2) say card name, and (3) say the sound the card makes. As students get more familiar with the sound spelling cards, you may ask them to say all three things (letter, name, and sound.) This is perfect for students in the earlier grades (Pre-K through 2nd) but it may also help newcomers in your class. These games are a fun way to help reinforce letter identification, letter-sound correspondence, and spelling patterns. I made these short and simple grammar and punctuation reference cards to support my students, whether it be independent centers, at their desks, etc. There are many options, so please have a look before you print. For example, there is a reference card solely about adjectives or a card explaining adjectives, adverbs, nouns, and verbs. Exclamation punctuation is referred to as exclamation ‘marks’ or ‘points’. If some of your students are working on common nouns but others are working on collective nouns, there is a range to cover the various levels of your class ---> GREAT FOR DIFFERENTIATION! Most cards are in black and white followed by the same card in color. I recommend printing the reference cards in color on white cardstock (and laminating if you can) OR printing in black and white on colored cardstock.
