The Gearrannan Blackhouse Village should be added to your 2023 bucket list, at Isle of Lewis The Gearrannan Blackhouse Village is a quaint cluster of traditional stone crofts on the Isle of Lewis; a reminder of Hebridean heritage that is almost lost. The area has been settled since ancient times, but the village at Gearrannan dates to the 17th century. For decades, Highlanders and their livestock lived in these one-room abodes. The homes, with packed earth floors, drystone walls, and thatched roofs, provided shelter from the harsh North Atlantic weather. The space was kept warm by a fire in the middle hearth, and a partition divided the human occupants from their farm animals.Other crofts and blackhouses on the Isle of Lewis acquired running water and electricity between 1945 and 1965. People resided in these dwellings until the 1970s, when the last elderly people of the village moved into more modern homes. It appeared that the settlement would then be lost to time, crumbling and decaying until it was nothing more than a wreck.Today, the renovated blackhouses are available as holiday accommodation. Each building is named after the family that once lived there, and parts of the village serve as a museum that honours this bygone way of island life From @jakosty 29. As we journey through life, we meet many people, some of whom inspire us, and some of whom bring us down. We search for our soul mate, or someone we can share our life with. However, sometimes it’s not easy and it may take you years to find the right person. Although it might be easy to lose hope, asking God for guidance is your best way to stay motivated and keep looking until you find the love of your life. If you have been hurt in the past, you most likely don’t want to open yourself up again because you are scared of what might happen. People also often settle for a person they know might not be right for them, but they are nervous if they let them go they won’t find anyone else in the future. These seven prayers will give you hope that there is that special someone out there for you, and that God will lead you to them when the time is right.

Another trail around my house, in the Rocky Mountain of British Columbia. I wake up earlier that morning and take a chance to do some picture under the cover of the forest with a fog coming from the river. The fog, with the sun rising true, has created an interesting perspective, and bring a good ambient to this picture. I edited it with Windows Live for the sharpness, contrast and saturation......I know, I am guilty. Copyright ©Robert Bellefleur, Rambler Photography.
