It is time for another McDonald's copycat recipe. After making these delicious Egg McMuffins, and Chicken McGriddles, we're making McDonald's hash browns this time. These mouthwatering hash brown patties made from shredded potatoes are cooked to be fluffy inside and crispy and toasted on the exterior. Since no other recipe even comes close to the original and, in my opinion, doesn't merit the moniker "Copycat recipe," the primary cause is wrong or missing ingredients. This recipe has been waiting patiently to be published. Thus I'll walk you through the process of making these hash browns in the McDonald's way today. The best part about them is that you can prepare them ahead of time and freeze them for whenever you're ready to cook them. The Best McDonald's Hash Browns Copycat Recipe I'm not sure about you, but I consider McDonald's hash browns among their most delicate items. They're great in the restaurant, but I think my version is much better when it's cooked at home! Once you try these easy and delectable homemade hash browns, you'll be addicted. That has certainly been the case for me. So far this week, I've cooked these for breakfast nearly every morning. Making these McDonald's hash browns at home is also great because no harmful ingredients are added, which I appreciate. My meal should not contain anything like sodium acid pyrophosphate or hydrogenated soybean oil! The original McDonald's hash browns don't contain any cheese, cayenne pepper, or other additives. Still, I see most, if not all, online versions that do—missing essential flavors, such as those from beef stock and a little sugar. But don't worry; you're going to create something genuine. The second item that appears to be ignored by everyone is confit cooking. Cooking anything in fat or oil at a reduced temperature is known as confit cooking. Because it changes the starch within, most restaurants "double fried" their potatoes. As a result, it becomes even crispier when you re-fry it after chilling. Confit, indeed, yep. Ingredients you'll need Okay, to prepare these delectable McDonald's hash browns, you just need some basic ingredients. And while this recipe calls for a few more ingredients compared to standard hash brown recipes, they are more than worth it. Here is all you will need to prepare this simple hash browns recipe: Russet Potatoes Salt Sugar Pepper Cornstarch Vegetable Oil (sunflower or rapeseed) Dry beef stock powder Since Yukon potatoes have excellent consistency, I occasionally use them to create hash browns, but any potato would work in this recipe. Because the original recipe calls for russet potatoes, I've included them. Regarding the oil, McDonald's uses a blend of rapeseed and sunflower oils. Any neutral high-heat oil, such as canola oil, avocado oil, peanut oil, or macadamia nut oil, can be used. How to make McDonald's Hash Browns Copycat Once more, making a homemade hash brown that tastes like the one from McDonald's couldn't be simpler. To make them, you only need to follow a few simple steps. And the steps in the procedure are basically peeling, grating, straining, shaping, and frying. You'll find this recipe incredibly straightforward to create, even if it's your first time cooking hash brown patties from scratch. And, to be honest, once you've prepared these hash browns, cooking them again and again will be simple. Now, let's start with the recipe and quit wasting time! Step 1: Prepare the potatoes. The potatoes must first be peeled and placed in a dish of cold water to prevent browning. Use a box grater's big hole to shred the potatoes. Fill the bowl with cold water, then stir the potatoes well. Drain off the water when it becomes cloudy. Then, move the chopped potatoes to a mesh sieve or strainer and squeeze them to remove most of their extra liquid. Step 2: Confit Cooking To get the restaurant quality hash browns, I advise you don’t skip this step. A non-stick skillet should be heated at low heat. Add the potatoes to the hot oil and cook them for 5 to 6 minutes. Before continuing, strain the potatoes and let them a little period of cooling. Step 4: Combine the ingredients and form the hash brown patties. Combine the potatoes in a bowl with the sugar, cornstarch, dry beef stock powder, salt, and pepper—Transfer 1/4 cup of the hashbrown mixture on a piece of parchment paper afterward. Make a rectangle out of the potatoes by flattening them. Add another 2-3 tablespoons of the potatoes on top, then fold the parchment paper over the top to help create the patties. Repeat these final two procedures with the remaining hash brown mixture until you have about four large patties. Step 5: Frying and Serving Next, add the oil to a nonstick skillet and heat it over medium-high heat. After that, add the hashbrowns and fry them there for a few minutes on each side or until golden brown. How To Store Hash Browns You are aware by now that this McDonald's hash browns recipe yields around four patties. Don't worry if you can't eat them all or decide to double the recipe since they really keep nicely. You may keep the cooked hash browns in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container. By the way, you can freeze the hash browns for up to 10 months if you want to store them for even longer. Just make sure the bag is freezer-safe. This is the approach I normally take. I usually prepare an extra batch of these McDonald's hash browns since I like preparing and eating them so much. The excess batch is simply frozen, so it's available anytime I need a quick side for breakfast. In any case, I advise using parchment paper to line each patty in order to keep them from adhering or disintegrating. Reheating Hash Browns The simplest method to reheat hash browns is to put them in the microwave and cook them for 20 seconds at a time until well hot. Alternatively, you may bake your hash brown patties at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, or until they are well cooked, on a baking sheet coated with parchment paper or foil. This is the best approach if you want them to crisp back up. McDonald's Hash Browns Recipe Ok, time for more detailed recipe instructions. Ingredients 3 Russet Potatoes 1 tsp of Salt 1 tsp of pepper 1 tsp of sugar 6 tbsp of Cornstarch 2 tbsp of Vegetable Oil (sunflower or rapeseed) 1 tsp of dry beef stock powder Instructions Peel and cut the potatoes, then put them in a bowl of cold water so they won't turn brown. Next, grate the potatoes thru the large hole on a box grater. Add cold water to the basin, then stir the potatoes well. Drain the water after it has become murky. To release most of the liquid, move to a strainer and press. On low heat, preheat a nonstick skillet. Add the potatoes to the heated oil and cook for 5 to 6 minutes. Before continuing, drain the potatoes using an oil strainer and give them a little time to cool. Combine the salt, pepper, dry beef stock powder, and cornstarch with the potatoes in a bowl. Put 1/4 cup of the mixture on a piece of parchment paper. Make it flat, like a rectangle shape. Add another 2–3 tablespoons of potatoes on top, and then fold the parchment paper over the top to make it flat. You can make the patties with the help of paper. Do the same thing with the rest of the mix. Add the oil to a nonstick skillet that has been heated to medium-high. Add the hashbrowns to the skillet and cook them for a few minutes, turning them occasionally, until golden brown all over. Share the image below to your Pinterest board if you like these McDonald's hash browns! Conclusion There is no way that this hash brown dish could be any more authentic. Every bite has the same deliciousness you adored every time you've eaten at McDonald's, and the outside's crisp crunch, buttery middle.

Homemade McDonald's Chicken McGriddles recipe is really worth mastering at home. It is not hard to make at all, however, you need to follow the instructions carefully. I'm on the row of making copycat recipes here. After Chick-fil-A Chicken minis and Popeyes Chicken Sandwich are so popular on our website, we're stopping at McDonald's next. So today, I've decided to make one amongst the legendary fast food breakfasts of all time, the McDonald’s McGriddles Copycat, and it turned out pretty darn awesome! McDonald's Chicken McGriddles Pancake buns are really soft and have small pockets of warm maple syrup throughout each bite. There's also a small secret to getting the syrup inside these McGriddles. I was introduced to the Chicken McGriddles through my friend, Johana. Johana loves McGriddles, and this was forever her favorite meal to order at McDonald’s. And I had heard and seen the name many times; however, I never really knew that a McGriddle was pancaked BUNS rather than biscuits or McMuffins. I really don’t visit McDonald’s a lot any longer, however, when I do have the urge to indulge in a fast food breakfast, it's almost always Mcdonald's and it is always Chicken McGriddles. This recipe is precisely just like the original. The sole difference is that they're homemade, so they are a touch thicker, with a bit more syrup, and simply taste like homemade. But not losing any flavors. Be sure to check the newest addition to my recipes: Homemade McDonald’s Hash Browns. For McDonald's Chicken I've decided to fry up a chicken breast fillet for this recipe rather than making a “formed” chicken patty. I will always take chicken breasts over ground and shaped chicken patty any day of the week. The breading and seasoning is incredibly similar to the McChicken however won’t be exactly just like the original. This is an upgrade for sure for this recipe, and you'll have to trust me! For McDonald's Syrup There are a number of recipes on the internet that tell you to use 100% pure maple syrup. I'm sorry about that, but they need to update cause that doesn't taste like McGriddle. For real, you want a real pancake syrup. The secret to those pockets of syrup is you actually boil the syrup to form a candied solid “glass.” You break it down into tiny shards and then stick pieces into the batter as it cooks. While it warms up, it begins to break down and get gooey inside the McGriddles. Pin the image below if you like this McGriddles Recipe! Ingredients McGriddle 2 cups of Pancake Mixture 1/3 cup of whole milk 2 tsp of vanilla extract Butter for the griddle/pan 1 cup of pancake syrup McChicken 1 cup of all purpose flour 2 tablespoons of cornstarch 1/2 tsp of pepper 1 tsp of salt 1 tsp of seasoning salt 1/2 tsp of garlic powder 1 tsp of onion powder 2 tsp of paprika 2 chicken breasts, pounded and cut to 3x3 Frying oil How to make Homemade McDonald's Chicken McGriddles (Copycat) McGriddle Syrup Glass Instructions Line the baking dish with parchment paper and put aside. Take a small cooking pan with a candy thermometer connected, add one cup of pancake syrup over medium heat. Allow it to come to a boil point and stir often till it calms down. Watch the temperature closely and swirl oftent ill it reaches 265 degrees, it should take about ten minutes. Take away from the heat and carefully pour into ready baking dish, spreading it around equally. Set pan aside to chill as you prepare the chicken and McGriddles. Once the syrup is ready, break it into tiny shards. Keep a handful of the pieces into a bowl close to the stove for later. McChicken Fillets Instructions Heat oil to 375 F in a fry-safe pot. Optional - flip the oven to 210 F(to keep chicken heat while you prepare McGriddles) Prepare a surface to put the finished deep-fried chicken – a chilling rack beside your stove, lined with layers of paper towels. Mix the beaten egg and water using a small bowl. Add all dry ingredients in a shallow bowl. Place the chicken fillets into the flour mixture to coat nicely, dip them into the egg wash, and then again back to the flour mixture. Make sure all of the area of the chicken fillets are coated in batter. Fry the chicken in batches, not overcrowd the pan, adjusting the temperature as required to keep it steady and equal. Once the chicken is close to being cooked, 6-7 minutes, take away from the pot and place onto ready surface. Allow it to cool for just a minute, more or less and place back to the pan for about 1-2 minutes more. Take away from the frying oil and allow to chill. You can keep them in the oven, while making McGriddles. McGriddle Pancakes Instruction Combine the pancake mixture, milk and vanilla extract and mix nicely. Heat your frying pan on a medium-low heat, add butter and allow it to brown, just slightly. Place the round cookie cutter at the bottom of the pan and pour a couple of spoons of batter into the circle. Spread nicely. Put a couple of shards of the syrup glass onto the batter. Top with a couple of additional spoons of batter. When the batter starts bubbling, easily take away the ring (it’s hot) and flip the McGriddle. Recipe for Panda Express Orange Chicken (Copycat) The flavor of this Orange Chicken dish is identical to that of the famous Panda Express restaurant meal. The only exception is that it's simple to create at home for a lower price. This recipe produces extremely soft chicken meat that has been marinated in a zesty orange sauce. I believe it easily outperforms the take-out equivalent! Another advantage of creating it at home is that you can completely control and change the ingredients as needed. For example, suppose you have a more prominent family or are having a party. In that case, you may double or quadruple the recipe. There may be many ingredients involved and many plates to clean, but this really does go together easily. Once you have a platter of delicious chicken, you'll forget about the mountain of pans you left behind! How to Prepare Panda Express Orange Chicken: Begin by making the sauce: Mix cornstarch, rice wine, water, orange juice, sesame oil, white sugar, brown sugar, white vinegar, orange zest, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes to produce the renowned sauce. You stir it first, then leave it until later. Getting the chicken ready: To cook the chicken thighs, get two shallow dishes, add a whisked and salted egg to one, and put the flour and cornstarch combination in the other. The chicken chunks should then be dipped in the egg mix before being dredged in the flour dish. Fry: In a large skillet or frying wok, heat the oil to 375 degrees F and fry the chicken chunks in groups until brown and cooked completely. When you're finished, set it to the side. Bring the sauce to a boil: Remove all but one tablespoon of the oil from the pan and add the sauce. Then, while stirring constantly, heat it until boiling. Return the Chicken to the Sauce: Return the fried chicken to the sauce and toss until fully mixed. Once the sauce has thickened, the meal is ready. Serve with a side of rice. Variations on the Panda Express Orange Chicken Recipe: Vegetables: To make it healthy, stir-fry some vegetables in the pan before pouring the sauce back in. Chopped bell peppers, chopped red onion, broccoli, bok choy, and sugar snap peas would be some wonderful additions. Make it Hotter: If you want your Chinese food fiery, add extra red pepper flakes, as well as some hot sauce or cayenne pepper, to the sauce. Make it better for you: Replace sweets with honey or maple syrup for a healthier alternative. Alternatively, the chicken can be gently fried or baked and then chopped into bits. Alternative Meats: This dish can also be made using pig or beef. Vegetarian: Use tofu to make it vegetarian. You may fry or bake firm tofu until golden and then use it in this dish. Add crushed peanuts, red pepper flakes, sliced scallions, and sesame seeds to customize your dish. How do you keep orange chicken fresh? Store them in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Keep in mind that the meat may get somewhat wet and less crunchy in the fridge. You can alternatively prepare the chicken and sauce separately and freeze them for up to 3 months. When ready to serve, thaw and mix. Tips for making a panda orange chicken: Use chicken thighs for the most remarkable results since they are more tender. For a healthy alternative, you could even use chicken breast. Don't leave off the orange zest; it gives the meal a lovely scent. You can also use the sauce to bake the chicken in for a more beneficial choice. If you don't have brown sugar on hand, add white sugar. If you're going to cook the chicken, make sure it's on a wire rack beforehand. Then, if desired, use a paper towel. Share the image below to your Pinterest board if you like this Panda Express Orange Chicken Recipe! List of Ingredients pinch of black pepper 1 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbsp canola oil 1/4 cup flour 1/2 cup cornstarch 1 egg 2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs The Sauce: 1/4 tsp hot pepper flakes (add more for extra heat!) 1 tsp sesame oil 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 tbsp ginger root (minced) 2 tbsp rice wine 2 tbsp water 4 tbsp white sugar 4 tbsp brown sugar 8 tbsp white vinegar zest of 1 orange 3 cloves garlic (minced) 1/4 cup orange juice 1/4 cup soy sauce Directions In a mixing dish, whisk together all of the sauce ingredients and put them aside. In a small dish, mix together the egg, salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon of oil. Put 1/2 cup of cornstarch and flour into a shallow dish and whisk well to combine. Add enough oil to a big frying pan over medium-high heat to deep fry the chicken pieces—Preheat the oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. When the oil is heated, dunk the chicken chunks in the beaten eggs first, then in the flour mix before placing them in the pan. Do not overfill the pan with chicken pieces; if necessary, cook in groups. Fry the chunks for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until golden and crunchy. Place on a cooling rack once fried. Remove most of the oil from the pan, reserving about 1 tablespoon. Pour in the orange sauce and bring it to a boil. Take the pan off the heat and mix in the cooked chicken until thoroughly covered. Serve with rice with a garnish of orange zest, sesame seeds, and green onions, if preferred.
