Cotchford Farm, the house owned by author A.A. Milne when he wrote 'Winnie-the-Pooh,' is for sale in England.
Pooh Corner is situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest in Hartfield, East Sussex. As a boy Chistopher Robin Milne (1920 – 1996) lived a mile away from Hartfield village at Cotchford Farm. Once a week he and his childhood friend Jessica would walk to the village to buy sweets at this shop, then called Sackville Cottage. The name changed to Pooh Corner in 1978 when it became a gift and tea shop specialising in Winnie-the-Pooh goods.
This 1991 vintage postcard of Ernest Shepard’s delightful coloured illustration is from A.A. Milne’s classic stories "Winnie-the-Pooh Story" and “The House at Pooh Corner”. It measures 6½” x 4¾” (16.5cm x 12cm) and has text from the story on the back of the card (see photo). Send this postcard to a friend or keep as a decoration. It would also look great framed for a baby’s nursery or child’s room to add charm, or use it for a party invitation. It also makes a unique gift for loved ones, baby showers, and new baby occasions. Ernest Shepard’s witty and very affectionate illustrations of Pooh and his friends have such lasting appeal and have become classics the world over.
