Seungyea Park , I was born in South Korea, and have received BFA, and MA in Longisland NY. USA. Since I've back to my country Korea, I've had several group, and solo shows, and have received funds from Seoul city for 2010~2012. In these days, I am working at the National art studio of Korea. My works addresses the topic of 'Monstrousness' caused by fear in our inner world. Due to fear and horror being used as the most 'universal' and constant devices to maintain social systems as 'injustice', and consider them 'enemies'. While regarding tabooed beings deviating from us as monsters. we ourselves become freaks. Monsters are everywhere. At the moment the 'I' within me faces the 'I' outside of me They try to avoid, conceal, and deny each other, considering the other a monster. They have conflicts, captured by another 'fear'. But, they are being that cannot die. The true nature of fear is perhaps as evasion of something nonexistent. I make my work wishing that I can be accustomed to and overcome fear by drawing out, and facing monsters, or the true nature of fear. [출처] C.V (작가 경력서 영문) English|작성자 박승예 Seungyea Park / share
