“Santaphobia” is (apparently) the term for a persistent fear of Santa Claus usually caused by coming into close proximity (by no doubt sitting on his knee) at Christmastime. It’s not genetic, so one child in a family can have it while their brother or sister may not. Now, I like Santa, even the beardy-weirdy ones that look like they’ve escaped from the pages of a Stephen King novel, but do appreciate how unnerving some people may find jolly old Saint Nick.
