Tanglewood Conservatories’ showcases its custom-designed, outdoor glass room conservatories, inspired by notable historical structures.
This lovely "Junuary" heatwave has had me itching to get out into the garden, but I know, it is still January all I can do is think and plan. So, I have been doing a lot of thinking and planning and one thing I am planning to do in my garden this spring is to redesign my little greenhouse. My greenhouse is a little 4x8 foot affair with a wooden frame covered in landscape plastic. It does great for the tomatoes, basil, and lemongrass I grow in there. My plan is to raise the height on one side to create a roof angle to catch more sunlight and to shed the rain better (I've only got a very small angle now). Not a very impressive greenhouse at the moment, but in my dreams I will have one like this: Here are some other styles: My husband has built some greenhouses like this one, attached to the home, sometimes doubling as a sun room. Another one like my husband has built for clients. This one looks awesome! This is a traditional conservatory or sunroom, usually found attached or built onto British homes. Now this is a very modern conservatory, more of a glass room than a conservatory. Here are some of the traditional styles of conservatories. I would love a conservatory or sunroom attached to my house for these long Oregon winters!
This small Victorian garden room sits out away from the house but is linked by a glass roofed passageway. This design feature freed us from the height restriction posed by the second floor window above.

The Great Conservatory (1827-30) at Syon House by Charles Fowler
Enid Haupt Conservatory The New York Botanical Gardens I am a member of NYBG and enjoy my excursions immensely. As I enter the gates, I make my way first to the gorgeous Conservatory building. Whether to see the tropical plants or one of the major shows such as the orchid show, it's always a delight! After I go to a favorite restaurant on Arthur Avenue completing my Bronx day. The Conservatory: The Enid A. Haupt Conservatory is a greenhouse at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, New York. The conservatory was designed in the Italian Renaissance style. Its major design features are inspired by the Palm House at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew Gardens London. This Fine Art Print is created using acid free matte paper. I have shown some framing ideas. You can contact me if you'd like to received your print framed. I am a proud member of Made in NYC. Launched by the Pratt Center for Community Development, Made in NYC helps small local businesses tell their story and provides a sense of community. _______________________________________________________ Please select your size from the menu. Necessary items for a porch.... especially a Farmhouse porch.... We have been fixing up our porch, planting flowers and getting things ready for summer, picnics on the porch, swimming, family visits... It occurred to me there are necessary things for a farmhouse porch.... Flowers are a must...overflowing...spilling out....welcoming visitors with their colorful and vibrant blooms. 1. Table with chairs, for relaxing and visiting, eating watermelon and drinking ice tea. 2. A tool box filled with blooms, flowers, or suntan lotion. 3. A potting bench or table for potting plants, containers for holding clippers and gardening tools. 4. Garden signs 5. Spray painted flower boxes and planters 6. Watering cans...more than one...and spray painted is much better 7. Birdhouses 8. Metal Chairs with metal planters filled with flowers and flags. A rake or shovel is nice....looks like you are doing farmhouse chores 9. Spray painted canning jars...I love the look of enamelware so I spray painted the lids red and the jars white. 10. Old doors, shutters, windows and shelves. 11. Vintage bathtub filled with overflowing flowers 12. Vintage wheelbarrow filled with flowers 13. A kitchen hutch filled with dishes and terra cotta pots Visit lucyina.com 14. Any metal buckets, chairs, pots, pans will do 15. A metal gate at the entrance is always an extra treat ****************** Pinned from finegardening.com I love these pictures from Pinterest....so many amazing ideas to see. More ideas for your porch: .... pillows and soft items to make your visitors comfortable, glasses for ice tea, baskets filled with sun tan lotion, or bug spray for cool night visitors like mosquitoes. A large basket filled with towels for unexpected guests swimming.... Soft lights or candles so that guests can find their way to their cars once the sun has gone down.... I have recently been inspired by the idea of a conservatory. You know that room that was featured on the Clue game board. I think it would be dreamy to sit in a conservatory and enjoy all the greenery when the snow is blowing around outdoors, or running to escape into the conservatory when a...

His name was familiar to me, but I’ll admit that before this post, I didn’t know much about Cecil Beaton. If I’m honest, it was actually his 18th century English manor I fell in love with, Reddish House; the conservatory to be specific. A conservatory or sun parlour if you will, is just the sort of thing…
