This Item is part of my Algebra 1 curriculum BUNDLE and Algebra 1 curriculum BUNDLE with GAME PACK This B version is designed for DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION and is aimed at students who struggle. I created this unit because I have a handful of students who require so much of my attention that I found it difficult to give the other kids what they need. I thought if I create guided homework that explains and guides them through a process, basically telling them what I would tell them, they could work a little more independently. Without this or my constant supervision they sit there without accomplishing anything. These assignments are a little less intense than the regular assignments, they are a bit shorter with more space to work. Check out the preview for a closer look. You could use this in place of the regular assignment or before it. I allow any student who cannot successfully work on the regular assignment to take the version B. It works very well. It is Unit 8 Lesson 1 "Factoring Polynomials: Greatest Common Factor" with lesson video. This product contains: 3 pages of notes 2 page homework assignment Full typed answer keys are included. The purchase of this product entitles you to personal use within one classroom. Sharing among colleagues is not permitted. Posting online or selling is strictly prohibited. Thank you for respecting my time and work.

This activity was a MASSIVE hit with my students. I was able to see a creative side from many and it was so impressive! Students will brainstorm ideas of what their own dystopian world would look like. The purpose is to demonstrate knowledge of the elements of dystopian fiction. I realize that sever...
I created this resource to "win" my students over to Shakespeare (I could tell they were getting bored...) and I think it kind of worked! I used these mini-activities as a creative break from traditional comprehension questions that would still get my students critically thinking about the play. The central questions of the packet of activities are, "Is Iago the greatest villain of all time? WHAT exactly makes him such a good villain?" Students will: Fill out a "diagnosis" checklist for Iago's villain qualities Write a paragraph analyzing the character Compare Iago to another villain of their choosing Creatively write Iago's villain origin story I used this after Act 2 of the play, but it can be used at ANY point, even after Act 1 or at the end of the play. Have a look at the preview for a peak! Hope you enjoy!
Here is a high res graphic that is print ready that would be great for T-shirts, mugs, kids rooms, etc. "Peace out girl scout." Vector layered EPS 300DP with a PNG that has a transparent background. **** READ **** >> If you have no experience with Illustrator, photoshop, or similar editing program, please pass. I do not teach people how to create or use them, I am only helping those who could benefit from pre-made elements. The Dating Profile Project is a fun way for students to demonstrate their understanding of a genre or as an introduction to the characters in a novel. I have included a few different styles of this product, as it can easily be applied to almost any unit, the Gothic version being my favorite. It would also go well with a Transcendentalist unit – students could create a profile for Thoreau, Emerson, Whitman, etc. Although these authors preferred to be on their own, I can still see their families saying, “When are you going to stop being a hermit and find yourself a nice girl?!” Each project comes with its own version of the rubric. Each project has its own editable file. There is also a more visually appealing PDF option. Good luck and please contact me if you have any questions or comments! File breakdown: - 1 editable assignment (Microsoft Word) + rubric to use with any novel study - 1 editable assignment + rubric to use with the Transcendentalists - 1 editable assignment + rubric to use with the Gothic genre - 1 PDF assignment + rubric to use with any novel study - 1 page with project ideas and Gothic student examples Cover photo uses Shelby Fonts: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Nicole-Shelby
A few photos of some of the things we have been doing during the first week and 2 days of school. 1). After reading First Day Jitters one of the follow up activities was a cooperative group vocab exercise which is pictured below. I love doing partner and group activities with my students as it provides great opportunity for practicing social skills and working with others. we love our clipboards:) Can't head to groups without them I also allow the students to pick a place to go with their buddy. We later decided that this location (right by all the centers and fun games) was not the best choice for minimal distractions. 2) My Job/Your Job This is a great back to school activity. We met up at the small group table and discussed jobs that students might have, and the jobs a teacher has to do. We discussed what would happen if we didn't do these things? Once we created our anchor chart we all signed it as a contract reminding ourselves of the importance of being responsible and doing our jobs in the classroom. 3). Principal from the Black Lagoon (see original post here: Principal from the Black Lagoon here is the picture from our interview with the principal. Each student had their index card with 2-3 questions on it. Before our Principal came, I had them practice reading into the microphone. Comparing and Contrasting posters in our groups teamwork! Part 2 coming soon.

Positive Learning Environment / PE Reward System: I started this reward system thinking I would implement it for a year. It has now been 6 years! Start your young entrepreneur on the right track by letting her imagine her own business. What would she sell? Who would be her business partners?
I think teaching the Six Traits for writing is awesome! However, I struggled finding a set of classroom signs/posters that I liked. So, I created my own set of posters. I also made a "mini-set" of the same posters so I could put them in the hands of students. The mini-set would be a great additi...

I created this deck for new tutoring students, but this would work well as a whole class activity on the first day of the school year in ELA classes. It could also be used by paraprofessionals and literary specialists working with small groups or individual students in reading.
I love social studies and how it mixes so well with everything that we are doing in ELA!! Right now, we are reading “The Lemonade War”! My kiddos love it and so do I! The best part is that it fits perfectly into our Economics standards! We use this novel study to go through the ... Read More about Market Day Economics Project

I created this graphic organizer for a 2nd Grade Teacher who teaches at my school. She was in need of a simple graphic organizer that could help her students understand the idea of the "Main Idea" actually being supported by the "Supporting Details". Buy the Bundle and SAVE! A+ Main Idea And Supporting Details: Bundle Pack This would be great to use for passages on home life, neighborhoods, communities, families, etc. It can also be used simply to show how the supporting details "support" the main idea. I gave you the option of either printing in color or black and white. If you look at the small windows, you will see what you will receive in this download. Follow me and catch my Early Bird's Special...all my new listings will be at 50% off for the first 24 hours. --Happy Teaching! Regina Davis
I created this scoring rubric to help my students understand how I would evaluate their weekly article assignment. It is a PDF, but if people are interested, I can create a word document for you to make changes - just message me. It includes: How much each section of the article is worth: quiz, writing, and annotations, a rubric for scoring their writing, and a list of tips for annotating a text. I use this rubric when scoring articles on our students' newsela.com accounts, but this could easily be used in the classroom. It is free because I took portions of the writing rubric from other rubrics. The rest is my own original work.
Don't you ever wish you could hear someone else present a lesson on something you are teaching? Me too! That's why I created the Teach- Aloud. Just like you may 'think aloud" when you are teaching students to approach a text, I included the things I would do/say when teaching this poem. Here's what you will get to teach this classic poem to a new generation: • Anticipation Guide for use before reading • A guide to a close reading of this poem • A Reader’s Theater adaptation of the poem • A handout/worksheet where students match lines of the poem to the speaker’s argument

Did you know that guitar is the instrument that is most requested to learn by kids? It probably comes to no surprise to you if you are a music therapist or music educator who teaches adaptive music lessons. But how do we actually teach kids how to play the guitar?

Funny poetry about life is the best kind to write because it keeps the class engaged. Mentor poetry provides a great opportunity for students to learn to write from some of the best poets, modern and classic. Judith Viorst’s poem If I Were in Charge of the World, is a fun way to get your students engaged and thinking about the world they live in and are a part of. They complain so often about life, if they could what changes would they make. Your students will use the writing process to create their own world-changing poem. You will love sharing these funny poems on life as a class. While getting started with literature circles and book clubs, I was overwhelmed with the numerous versions and types of jobs and roles for the students. With this in mind, I wanted to create an easy to use and understand resource that could be used with a wide-range of students, and would also support my students as they were reading and thinking about text so that they could have strong collaborative conversations. Included in this pack are a number of different jobs and roles students can assume while doing book clubs and literature circles. Among these are: The Discussion Director The Discussion Director Nonfiction The Summarizer The Wordsmith The Questioner The Predictor The Private Eye The Passage Picker The Shoe Thief The Connector The Storyboard Artist The Summarizer for Nonfiction Self & Peer Evaluation

Online Homeschool documentation form for high school students YOU NEED THIS FORM! :) This is an online form your kids fill out to keep track of things they study. I am a former teacher who homeschooled her children through a few years of high school. I created this Google form so that we could have details about the things that each kid studied on a specific day. I used a separate form for each child. You are purchasing a link to the Google form that is on my Google Drive. There are instructions for how to make a copy of the form in this document. The form is easily customizable to your specific situation. Additionally, I have set up this form so that it will populate a spreadsheet so your child's answers are easy for you to monitor. In our house, each kid filled out the form at the end of their daily studies. This information is automatically saved, so at the end of your academic year, you have specific details about what happened each day. This form was more valuable than gold when I had to write the homeschool supplement for their college applications. As their teacher, I had to write a narrative of each of the topics they studied, giving as many details as possible. I was able to look back at the years of responses from this form and give a very accurate, thorough description of what the kids did. There was no guessing. There were no questions of "What did you do yesterday?" Both of my kids are currently attending their choice of college. THANK YOU for looking! I'm a new TpT author and would *really* appreciate your purchase and (feedback)!
