Seaboard Coast Line westbound manifest freight train is seen with open style autorack cars plus TOFC while passing the Amtrak Station in Lakeland, Florida, mid 1970's. Notice the partially shielded autorack car on the left, as compared to the open one seen in the center of the photo. At this time a caboose was very much in use on mainline freight trains, as the one seen at the end of this train. Notice the L&N trailer located on the piggy-back car. This mainline was a former ACL property with a right-of-way running between Tampa and Orlando. Both freight and passenger trains use this mainline.
