pours amber with a slight haze, a decent off-white head that leaves lace on the glass. i was expecting a hop-bomb smell that would knock me over, but it had orangey-tangerine sweetness to the smell that got me excited. the sweetness in the smell makes you think it may be overly sweet but that wasnt the case. lots of heavy hop flavor with citrus and malt to balance it out. the 9.5% ABV can be felt in the after-taste along with a bit of sweetness and hop bitterness. this beer (along w/ pliny the elder) has lived up to the hype. its a fantastic beer!!!
