This plant is a double beauty. Not only does it have the most beautiful blue/grey flowers in summer but it produces three large seed pods which split in autumn to reveal these fantastic orange/red berries in a striking 'tripod' arrangement if you see what I mean! I have never sought to smell this plant, having been partly put off by its name and partly because it is not something I do, smelling flowers is not a 'man thing' I guess, however, having read about this now I might give it a go as, if you crush it, it gives off a smell of fresh meat which gives it its local name of the Roast Beef plant; now that does sound more tempting! The Stinking Iris is common over much of Dorset, especially on sea cliffs, in damp woodlands and in hedgerows. It has a preference for chalky soil and can occur in many other situations down here as well.

Graceful and delicate, Siberian Iris will enchant your garden with its stunning blooms and easy-to-grow nature.
A recent introduction, Iris 'Alida' is a pretty Dwarf Iris with exceptionally large, mid blue flowers, beautifully adorned with intricate butter-yellow and white markings on each fall. The foliage of slender, grass like, gray-green leaves typically rises to the same level as the flower, but elongates after flowering, before disappearing by late spring as the plant goes dormant. Blooming in late winter to early spring, the bulbs quickly produce offsets that multiply into generous drifts of color.

Perfect for standing water, Iris fulva (Copper Iris) is a striking perennial with unusual, flat-topped, beardless flowers, up to 3 in. across (7 cm), the warm color of copper, terracotta, brick-red, and sometimes yellow. Blooming in late spring to early summer, they rise atop upright stakes reaching 2-3 ft. (60-90 cm). The beauty of the flowers attracts hummingbirds.
Glowing like fire across the spring garden, award-winner Iris 'Dauntless' is one of the oldest and finest red irises. Perfectly shaped flowers beautifully held on tall stems and lasting over a long season earned this Tall Bearded Iris the most prestigious award of the American Iris Society, the Dykes Medal in 1929. The elegant red standards float gracefully atop darker velvety burgundy-red falls which are adorned with tangerine beards and grace the garden for weeks each spring. The spectacular blooms of this heirloom iris rise with majesty up to 36 inches high (90 cm). A midseason bloomer, 'Dauntless' has been a favorite since its introduction in 1929!
