High quality digital artprint, 240 gsm Scandia 2000 white matt Only 30 exist Signed and numbered Story: In 2014, I sat on the subway and above me sat a stylish young man with pointy shoes and shoulders, reading his newspaper. At the time he would fit within the Hipster-definition, while today he would definetely have had a way to little set of a beard. It was late at night, and in the window I could make out the reflection of a figure, which was difficult to see if was human at all . The youg guy struck me as a type who preferred newspaper in print rather than online newspapers, but I wondered why he was reading the newspaper so late at night. I dont know why, but I felt an urge to capture the moment so I snuck a photo. It become a little dark painting later that night, with rough and quick strokes, and a much less detailed style than the way I normally work. It was all about capturing the moment. We were just a few on the subway and it was dark and a bit of tension in the air, in a way. The quite fascinating thing is that early the next morning I sat on the bus and the same person came on after a couple of stops and sat down right next to me (!!) Little did he know that the night before I had been painting him and his newspaper.

I had this spot next to Lake Irene all to myself on this night. I was standing there quietly soaking it all in, waiting for those clouds to dissipate, when I heard a noise in the woods coming towards me. I lit up my headlamp to see a black bear looking at me. LOTS of noise later the bear sauntered off down towards the end of the trail. I made an executive decision that the clouds would do and took this photo. Second star to the right...and straight on till morning. Or better yet. Take the photo, pack it up, hike back to the 4Runner and let the bear enjoy the beauty and solitude without me :) This print is printed on FujiColor Crystal Archive Deep Matte by a company here in the United States. It is a professional grade photo paper. Soft and velvety to the touch, non reflective and with elegant color reproduction.

But whenever I tried to discuss my concerns with him, it was never the right time. It was too early in the morning or too late at night, he was too busy with work, or he hadn’t slept well the night before and was too tired. When I finally forced the conversation and demanded to be treated better, he dismissed everything because clearly I didn’t remember the situations I cited correctly. Not to mention, according to him, I was just too sensitive, I was nagging him, and that no marriage is perfect.
