Nallur Kandaswamy Temple – Located north of Sri Lanka, this is one of the most significant Hindu temples in Jaffna. The idol of the Nallur goddess was gifted during the 10th century by a Chola queen. The temple was founded in 948 and served as the capital of the kings in Jaffna. The area surrounding the Nallur Temple has a strict condition to only consume vegetarian meals. The temple hosts the annual festival spread amongst a period of 25 days
