I have a super fun idea for some Easter treats. There is only one more day until Easter, but they are super fast and are super cute. I saw the idea for striped peeps at Hoopla Palooza and decided to try it out. I have some tips based on my own experience. Plus I am offering a printable tag at the end for anyone who would like to quickly make their own similar tags. First you need Peep bunnies in a few different colors. I chose to only do three colors to cut down on the hassle because they get super sticky once you cut them and so lots of little pieces can be frustrating. I also suggest cutting from the back because the sugar gets a bit messed up when cutting, so cutting from the back saves the front. Also make sure you leave the whole head including face intact. After cutting each marshmallow into three parts mix them up and reassemble. Then insert a small lollipop stick into the bottom. You could simply slip them into a cellophane treat bag, tie it, and be done. But since I'm a crafter I had to add a little more pizzazz. I decided to create a tag so I punched out some circles from white cardstock and die cut some coordinating scalloped circles from purple using Sizzix Scalloped Circle dies. Then I took Milo's ABCs from Lawn Fawn to spell out the word Peeptastic. I wanted to reflect the colors of my Peeps so I took out the center three letters and placed them on another block. Then I applied some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to the PEEP and some Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to the TIC. After stamping that I used Mustard Seed Distress Ink for the TAS and stamped it in the middle. I found the "have a" in Cozy Christmas and the "day" in Hats off to You both from Lawn Fawn. I added some quick stitching lines around the outside of the white, layered them up, and tied it together from some extra yarn and embroidery floss I had saved from packaging. I'm linking this project to a few challenges to spread the idea around. The Crafter's Cafe Challenge blog is asking for something clean and simple. Mema's Crafts is hosting anything goes with a twist of Easter/spring. Open Minded Crafting Challenges is having an Easter/pastel colors challenge. The Pink Elephant is hosting an Easter theme. Addicted to Stamps also has Anything Goes. Feel free to save the image below to use for your own tags.

Hello crafty friends! It's Jess from JessCrafts.com. Today I am sharing a card made with the Pumpkin Kitty stamp set. I love making my own backgrounds and often use little image stamps but thought I would mix it up and use a sentiment stamp.Check out the video for more: I used Hero Arts Shadow Ink cubes to stamp the sentiments and then used some Wild Honey Distress Ink to add the yellow to the edges. I will share more about this card in a video soon but a little tip. When using cardstock mats you can die cut a shape out of the center (like the scalloped circle) to reduce cardstock consumption. This little cat can be used for Thanksgiving as well so if you haven't picked it up yet it will certainly still be useful this year. But if you are in need of some Halloween stamps fast check out Gerda's Halloween digis.

Hello crafty friends! Today I have something a bit different. I took the time to play along in the Neat and Tangled Little Tangles Challenge 81. I love Neat and Tangled stamps and find myself buying something almost every release because I have such a weakness for stamps designed by the super talented Elena of Just Me. However, I don't always take the time to share cards I make using those stamps because I'm not sure if the tutorials will be helpful, but today I've added a Distress Ink twist that hopefully intrigues some of you. Check out the video for more info: I've always loved using traditional Distress inks with stencils and so I wanted to play around a bit with one of my old techniques with the new Distress Oxides. The technique still works but it's a bit different. You get a much softer look with the Oxides. I am also planning on turning these two encouraging cards into Any Hero Mail for Mary Polanco's Drive. I hope you'll consider joining. I have some tips for writing Any Hero mail on my Card Drive Resources page. Sharing is caring! Pin this post to share with others using the graphic below:
Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing how to use up 6x6 patterned papers without creating any scraps. This method is similar to the idea of a One Sheet Wonder and I will refer to them in that way since it makes sense to many crafters. To the best of my knowledge, the One Sheet Wonder is a concept Stampin' Up demonstrators have been using for years and so credit to them for the name and inspiration of the idea. Today I am sharing how to cut up a 6x6 piece of paper that will result in 2 of the exact same card. I am using cardstock to mat the patterned paper pieces which will create some cardstock scraps. In this blog post you can find a template for how to cut your paper as well as a sketch to show what should be done with those cuts. Of course feel free to mix it up to your own liking. This post and video is not sponsored but compensated affiliate links are used to support my blog and channel. Thank you! If you share on Instragram please tag me @jess.crafts and use #jcosw and #jcsketches so I can see your beautiful creations!
