Hi everyone For me it is day 18 of being at home. Some days are good and others not so good. Yesterday I surfed a little on YouTube and pinterest and saw some various forms of snippet belly bands and decided to create a few of my own. I started with a 1" x 8" strip of heavier chip board (cereal box would work) and then used scrappy bits off my table to create these lovely bands. They could be used to decorate a page edge, or as a long belly band or even cut up in snippet clusters. Either way they are so darn cute and super fast and easy to make, I had to share. If you are looking for a fast easy little project, why not give them a try. I'd love to see your creations.
These things sure do come in handy!

Who knew that these common household items could be so useful?
Grunge Junk Journal with digital pics of corset and a lady. Rusty pieces on the topper key and heart. And a letter Q. $92. This Journal measures 9” by 7” with about a 1” spine. It is a soft covered journal, with pieces of a master board I created and ripped apart. On the cover I used layers of fabric, lace, papers to create a topper. I have 3 pieces I rusted and a digital of a corset, and a lady with a few bottles in front of her. The rusted pieces are a letter Q, key and heart Inside you will find a small attached signature with vintage book cover altered with rust pieces and fabric, and there is about 20-24 pages front to back like a book. Than comes the main signature with approx 68 pages of fabric and paper. I created pockets, belly bands, film stip belly bands, clusters, flips. There is lots of texture and fabric to feel your way through the journal. I stenciled and used paste to create texture through out the journal. There are ruffles, and cloth pockets. Enjoy the venture through journaling in your new book. &&&&&&&& if you need more info or pictures DO NOT hesitate in contacting me. Hi everyone. I was checking out some mixed media projects on Pinterest and came across one that gave me this idea. The problem was I didn't pin it and couldn't find it again to link it for you and give credit to the artist. I have a lot of round punches as well as circle die cuts and decided to use them to create piles of book text circles. I also had some scraps left from corrugated coffee sleeves which were looking for a new purpose. The 1.5 inch circles were inked around the edges with Coffee Archival. They were then overlapped and glued to a thin strip of cardstock, not meant to be visible from the front.. The corrugated sleeve was cut into .5 inch x 3.5 inch lengths and each was given a fishtail flag end. This was layered over the overlapped circles glued to the cardstock strip and then messy stitched on the sewing machine. Scraps of coffee dyed cheesecloth were layered under coffee dyed and inked mulberry flowers to finish this set. The second set I created with a similar start except I glued five of the 1 inch circles to a cardstock strip. For the topper, I cut a just under .25 inch strip of black and white striped designer paper and stitched it horizontally across the overlapping circles. The ends of each strip were decorated with little buttons. This particular book paper is quite thin so the cardstock behind and the striped cardstock sewn on top give this embellishment more strength. I had two of the 1.5 inch circles left from the first set so I added one of the 1 inch circles and adhered the three to a strip of cardstock. I also had a 2.25 inch length of corrugated sleeve left over so I fishtailed the two ends, centered it over the three circles and stitched it all together. It could be a little tuck spot or simply an embellishment for a page or a mini notebook cover. The larger circles with three combined are 4 inches in length, the ones with 5 are 4.5 inches, and the last one with 2 large and 1 small circle is 3.25 inches long. I can see changing these up by varying the shapes, sizes, and papers used...lots of possibilities. Thanks for visiting today. You know I appreciate that! Life is good; so is art. Bonnie
Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. I am bringing you another Junk Journal tutorial. This is another episode in the tutorials for the journal I made using the Artymaze kit, Vintage Days. I am making 2 more journals and will be making tutorials for each of the different pockets and tags I made. This tutorial is for the centre of the signature. I am making a belly band and a triangle corner pocket. Measurements and Materials Before adding the belly band and pocket I used a mask to add some interest to the pages I used the printables from the Vintage Days kit by Artymaze I liked the 3 ticket strip and think is works really well as a belly band I cut some coffee dyed cardstock to attach this to 2" x 8 1/4" I glued some tea stained cheese cloth to this before adding the ticket strip I then made a corner pocket using one of the backing papers I cut it into a square 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" I score 1/2" on 2 adjacent sides I then scored diagonally from the top of one of the scored edges to 1" above the other scored edge Fold along the diagonal Score 1/2" on the 1" section Notch in on the score like so the edges can fold in neatly Applied glue on the 1/2" section and adhere to the corner of the page I glued some ephemera from the kit to form a tuck pocket on top I then added tags and journalling cards to the pockets and belly band Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-) Video Tutorial Click below to see the video tutorial :-) Time for the closeups!
