The Japanese graphic designer Kazumasa Nagai was born in Osaka in 1929. He studied sculpture at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. From 1951 he pursued a career in graphic design. His works include posters, graphics and logos. Nagai has launched the series "LIFE" in 80s, changing his distinctive seventies abstract style to a more classical style inspired by Japanese traditional graphics, showing animals and plants drawn by hand. Nagai recently collaborated with Pleats Please by Fashion designer Issey Miyake.
