The Angry Miao AM Compact Touch keyboard is a 65% layout keyboard that is compact in size and takes up 11% less space on a desk compared to a traditional 65% layout keyboard.
Presenting the Anima Piano Desk. The Anima is an heirloom piece of furniture designed to enhance creativity and joy for living and is made to order to accommodate your keyboard. I carefully select long board timber with unique and continuous grain and figure to composite the beautiful waterfall lines. Whenever possible, I use lumber that has been rescued from urban forests. This piece is built with premium Walnut hardwood. The lid utilizes SOSS hidden hinges which allow for an unobstructed flat top when closed. This allows the Anima to double as a quality writing desk or console table. When the lid is open a unique sheet music support panel presents itself. The panel attaches flat to the lid via brass thumb screws and slides into an angled groove when in use. The support panel provides the opportunity to present a unique slice of timber, in this piece the support panel is made from a beautiful slice of Spalted Quarter Sawn Sycamore. The casework features waterfall joints supported by brass inserts. The legs are tapered on two sides and are capped with solid hand-shaped brass feet and levelers. The bottom features cable management access ports. Each piece is customizable to accommodate a variety of keyboards and I will collaborate with you to ensure that proper measurements are taken to ensure a perfect build. The keyboard is installed via a drop leaf back access panel. The piece is finished with a best in class hard wax oil with a satin sheen. Shipping: If you are located outside of Los Angeles County, the price includes a $500 shipping allowance. I am partnered with a variety of shipping providers and can offer a wide range of services. Once the piece is complete we can explore all the options. The $500 shipping allowance may cover the shipping or not... it all depends on the level of service, timing, logistics, and mood of the shipping industry at the time. I am a music producer and needed a large desk to comfortably create at and organize all my gear. Plus years of being hunched over staring at a screen was killing my back 😖 Everything I looked at was quite ugly (to me) and didn’t have the aesthetic I wanted, nor the features. So I designed and built my own using beautiful woods and an organic modernist feel. This is not a Chinese, factory-made desk. Each are handmade, one at a time. After countless fellow producers asked me to build one for them, I decided to start a studio furniture business in Los Angeles. Our mission is to combine cutting-edge functionality with timeless beauty and design. To bring nature into the studio and create a desk that’s a work of art unto itself 🌿 Something inspiring to help you realize your full potential. These desks help maximize your creative output. Each is unique and one of a kind, built to fit your specs, your gear, your workflow, your vibe, your life. Being a producer/DJ myself, I understand what we need. Lots of options are available so you get exactly what you want, and everything is customizable. It’s like buying a suit .. you’ll need to tailor it to fit your body, as no two are the same. We will have very thorough conversations to ensure everything is dialed in. The iMovR Lander motorized sit/stand base is a real game-changer and allows you to stand and do your thing. Shifts the energy after prolonged sitting. At standing height, your speakers remain at proper ear level for mixing. Excellent for tracking vocals/guitar/keys, beat-making, and DJing. As well as doing laborious tasks like comping and editing. It helped me a lot with my posture and leg circulation and is MUCH healthier in the long run. You won’t stand all the time, but it’s really liberating and nice to have the option. Another benefit is the keyboard tray: a big problem we often see is when pulled out, esp with an 88 (they’re tall), the tray will be cutting right into your legs and knees. The sit/stand base allows you to bump it up an inch or two to give your legs clearance. It’s really helpful in staying comfortable while creating. Humans shouldn’t sit all day, it’s no bueno! Trust us, it changes everything. ** Real-world note on standing studio desks: thick carpet isn’t ideal as it's soft and can induce a little wobble. But not a dealbreaker. Also, with a heavy keyboard pulled out, you’re shifting the center of gravity considerably so a little desk movement/flex will happen when playing hard. There’s no getting around it. It’ll never tip over, but if you’re banging on the keys you will notice some flex. If laying down simple midi and playing lightly it's not a big deal. Small price to pay for the versatility of standing and all the benefits. House your outboard gear for easy access in 1-4U racks. Generally we do 3/4U for the speaker ends. 4U height puts the speaker shelf tops at 8". The back shelf is completely customizable and can be straight across at various heights (1-4U), have a dropped middle (1-3U) with higher ends for speakers, or angle the speaker ends inward to mix position or have the shelf middle cut out completely for your screen to sit directly on the tabletop. Then you can have loose speaker ends/racks which you can angle as you please. I recommend a 1-3U height for the middle shelf (1-2U being optimal, 2U puts the shelf at 4 3/8” up - measure it, put your screen base that high and see if that works for you). I don’t generally recommend 4U in the middle, as the viewing angle is often too high: not ideal to be looking up at your screen for extended periods of time. Your neck will thank me. If you have 2 monitors + speakers then you’ll either want a straight shelf across, or if wanting the dropped middle to lower the screens, have the drop be only 1U difference from the ends. For example - 3U ends/2U middle. That way the bases of your screens will raise them up enough so that the outer bottom ends of each screen will go OVER into the raised speaker area. If the difference in heights is too much, say 4U ends/2U middle , it’ll be too much to do that, unless you have them both on arms and bring them forward and down in front of the middle shelf. If using a clamp/monitor arm let us know and we’ll discuss either clamping to the back of the middle shelf, or the desktop itself and in that case we'll need to cut out a semi-circle in the back of the middle shelf so the pole has space to come through. Also if you don’t have much rack gear the speaker ends don’t have to be the full 22.5” across like we normally do. They can be half that (12"w) to accommodate a smaller speaker standing vertically, and will open the middle up more. And lastly, if going with the angled speaker ends, the middle shelf will be dropped (depth 9.5”) and you have a choice of another rack dead center with two little channels on each side to run cables through, or double middle racks (1-2U only), or just a center post with two bigger open bays to each side of it. Choose a 12”- 14” shelf depth. The smaller the depth the more desktop space in front of you. Also rack gear might hang off the back with a 12” deep shelf, but if it’s up against a wall and you don’t care and would rather have more desk real estate, go with 12”. The shelf angles off the back mimicking the front angle so in general if trying to figure out how much space you will have in front of you it's about 18-20". Add a matching wood ($200) or metal rack drawer (NavePoint on Amazon) for odds and ends. Or add a cover plate with soft close hinges to hide gear ($150). Stick an LED strip on the back and control the backlighting with your iPhone. Our custom-designed and manufactured 46” cable management tray attaches to the back underside and can run all your cables and house multiple power strips: makes for a clean look without seeing all the wires hanging down the back. Cable clips can be added to separate power from audio and minimize hum. Pass-through holes allow you to route cables onto the tray. Run one power cable out of it to the wall. Your OCD remains in check :) For the install, if ordering outside LA, the base will arrive separately in 2 boxes and usually before the desktop arrives. The desk comes with the shelf attached, keyboard tray and cable tray unattached. We provide all screws and a PDF of install instructions; you’ll just need a power drill. It’s not complicated, just follow step by step and you’ll be fine. Should take a cpl hrs max. Position yourself to channel your best ideas. We firmly believe having a cutting-edge & beautiful studio desk will help you capture inspiration when it comes. Your desk is your sanctuary. It's our temple of creation. Investing in yourself and your workstation is truly one of the best and most important d
