Liquorice is a super quick project to knit just before the winter is over… or just before it arrrives! It is worked in Bulky weight yarn, which makes it grow so fast, you can literally see this grow inch after inch as you knit. I used a gorgeous Eggplant colorway, which suits my always neutral wardrobe… However I can picture this in a BRIGHT color too, peeking under a jacket as the perfect statement piece. Liquorice is worked from the top-down, seamlessly in one piece. I named it after the colorway of the yarn I used, which brings me great memories. I visited Julie and JF (the dyers) at their home/studio and I cam home with these gorgeous gorgeous skeins with me. They’ve listed some yarns in their etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/es/shop/julieasselin SIZES XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). Shown in size M on a 36” bust. You will need an extra needle for the tubular bind off. It can be the same or a similar size. Sizes S to 5XL: US 11 8 mm circular needles, about 32” long. It's really hard to go wrong with broken rib—it's always such a pleasing texture. In Dale, Elizabeth has used it not only in the split hem, cuffs, and short funnel neck of this pullover, but also in the raglan shaping, which we think is a really cool detail.

Please Note: Due to the weight of this book, we are not able to offer free shipping. Paperback: 244 pages Dimensions: 23 x 25 x 2 cm Publisher: Åsa Söderman About me I am a Swedish knitting designer who now lives in Germany with a Danish husband. I knit with abandon. I’ve knitted my way from Sweden to Germany via New York and Boston and Singapore, and Sussex. You will soon notice that my designs are mostly seamless and top down, and that I’m seriously attracted by clever solutions. The Ziggurat sweater is my signature. It’s a seamless, top down, contiguous or Simultaneous Set In sleeve method that I have developed and polished since my first Ziggurat saw the light in 2011. I’m still somewhat obsessed by it. Just a little bit later I cleared my desk of notebooks and scribblings about J.S. Mill and a turgidly slow-forming PhD dissertation – “knitting” appears exactly nowhere in his Collected Works. I’m sure you can see the problem. I’m a knitter, not an academic. I know there are academic knitters – and knitting academics. I’m just not one of them. My other somewhat edged-out-of-the-way obsession is food. Good food. And crusty bread. Our house pet is a sourdough starter (which I happily share). By the way, Åsa (Ooh-sah or Awe-sah) rhymes with Tricosa in most or many languages. Söderman rhymes with not much at all. I hope you enjoy my designs!
Garn : Blusen strikkes med 3 tråde - 1 tråd New Zealandsk lammeuld og 2 tråde Silk Mohair: 1. tråd : ‘New Zealandsk lammeuld’, G-uld (450 m pr 100g) 2 + 3. tråd : ‘Silk Mohair’, G-uld (420 m pr 50g) Strikkefasthed : 10 x 14 m = 10 x 10 cm i glatstrik. New Zealandsk lammeuld : 150 (150) 200 (200) 250 (250)g. Silk Mohair : 150 (150) 200 (200) 250 (250)g. Fuld længde, målt MF : ca 50 (52) 54 (56) 58 (60) cm, eller ønsket længde. Pind : rundpind 9 + 10 mm ( 40 / 60 / 80 cm).
The point-down triangle centered across the front of my Striped Wedge Pullover symbolizes strength, endurance, and all things feminine. Formed out of a break in the stripe pattern, the triangle emerges as if once nestled among the growth rings of an ancient tree: clear, unwavering and resoundingly present. I designed the sweater to be worked from side to side in garter stitch, with an interlude of short rows on the front to form the triangle. Created in Purl Soho’s Linen Quill (which has impressive yardage and is available in a stunning palette), the sweater has a comfortable, flattering silhouette that helps make it as pleasurable and easy to wear as it is to knit. I am pleased and proud to present the Striped Wedge Pullover as the first pattern for Frog & Cast, and am grateful for new ventures and many more patterns ahead.
Hali is available as my personal pattern on the 1st of March. -Leeni Hali means a hug in Finnish, and the pullover is like a warm hug from a friend on a chilly day. It’s a bit oversize so you can layer your clothes with a blouse and jeans and feel comfortable. The funnel neck gives the pullover a contemporary look even though the stitch pattern is quite timeless. Can you see how the stitches are chained to each other – just like us? ~ ErattaDec2019: Just a note to say that there may be errors in the stitch counts of this pattern. Apologies but I will not be making corrections to the pattern. Please read notes in pattern re: “How a Ladder is Made” before messaging me with questions. When dropping any stitch, follow the path of the stitch about to be dropped and check that it lines up with a M1. Use pattern at your own risk ;) Thanks! Inspired by Erika Knight’s Earthly pullover, this shawl, worked from the top down, features a combination of dropped ladder stitches and YO eyelet holes to create it’s torn, “tattered” look. The sport weight wool/bamboo yarn knitted on a slightly larger needle gives this shawl wonderful drape and sheen. Looks great on both women and men! Thank you to Hummel456 for kindly translating Tattered to German! Pattern is written out row by row.
