Knitting kit for STRUCTURE LOOP SWEATER by Other Loops in Önling No 1Structure Loop Sweater is a beautiful, oversized sweater with stripes in structured knitting across the body and sleeves. On the shoulder you'll find a rib detail, which continues along the armhole and down as a panel along the side of the body. The sweater is designed by talented Maja Kløvdal aka @otherloops and here we knit it in Önling No 1 (angora and merino) for a perfectly soft and joyful result. You can also knit in our alternative kit with 1 thread No 20 (shetland wool) and 1 thread No 10 (silk mohair) held together for a warmer sweater with a more rustic look, yet with the softness of the silk mohair. In addition, we have made a kit with 1 thread No 15 (merino wool) and 1 thread No 10 (silk-mohair), which gives a light and soft sweater, completely itch-free and with a modern merino / silk-mohair expression. This yarn kit contains: Önling No 1 for the elected size and a digital pattern. The pattern is a PDF file. Immediately after purchase you will be able to download the pattern directly from the purchase confirmation page. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to your pattern, and the pattern will be available here at the site via your personal account - so remember to create an account :-) Read more about digital knitting patterns here.' The gauge is very important - especially the height, as several measurements in the pattern is described as a number of rows. If you do not match the gauge in terms of number of rows, we recommend you try to switch to needles in another material. Knitting process:The sweater is worked from the top down. Stitches are cast on for the back of the neck and then worked with rib stitch in both sides, and at the same time increases are worked to form the top part of the back panel. Then stitches are picked up along the edge of the shoulders, and the shoulders are worked individually back and forth. Stitches are then cast on to join the 2 shoulders into the front panel. The front and back panels are joined, and the body is worked in the round on a circular needle. The body is finished by a bottom rib hem. The sleeve stitches are picked up from the armhole, and the sleeves are worked in the round and finished by a rib stitch cuff. Finally, stitches are picked up from the neck opening and worked in rib stitch. The rib stitch neck hem is folded double and knitted down. The structured stripes on the sweater start on the back and front panels and continue down the body and the sleeves. Follow the placing and the chart for the stripes as described in the pattern below. Please Note: The price of the yarn kit is calculated based on the amount of yarn included, which is the amount we have used to knit the design according to the above measurements. Should you need more yarn, additional yarn can be purchased at regular prices by placing an order and state LOT number in the comment box at checkout. All designs have been thoroughly calculated and tested. Photo credit IG @annette.knit @memo.knit @mit_strikke_univers @blaastrikken

This circularly knitted project is the result of Beth's classes in Latvian mitten techniques. The methods used in the cuff can be applied to sleeve cuffs, sock tops and more!: a scalloped cuff, the herringbone braid, many subtle and beautiful variations of the half-braid, and a picot edged hem. A choice of two- or three-color traditional motifs is incorporated in the main part of the fingerless mitt as well as the gussetless thumb. Additional techniques to be discussed include knitting with two yarns in the right hand, two yarns in the left hand, or a yarn in each hand, as well as knitting with three colors and setting up the knitting for color changes in the braids. Includes photos and charts. First published in Knitting Traditions Winter 2011 as “A Kaleidoscope of Color: Latvian Fingerless Mitts" You can purchase a kit of this pattern from my website KnittingTraditions DOT com.
