Lapidary Machine - Free download as PDF File (.pdf), Text File (.txt) or read online for free. This document provides instructions for building a low-cost lapidary machine using common household items. A used 1/3 to 1/2 HP motor with a 1/4 or 5/8 inch shaft is installed on a motor base made from a 5-gallon bucket. A plastic dish pan serves as a water basin and is attached below the bucket. Water supply and drainage lines are added. Flat laps or grinding wheels can be mounted on the motor shaft to shape and polish stones. Safety precautions like ground fault protection are emphasized.
