The new lamina light sculptures reveal a unique experience through distributing light between layered structures. The light sculpture creates fluctuating color patterns within its transparent slats. the slats, constructed from recycled acrylic material, create distortions which change color depending on the intensity of the light. The lamina light can be manipulated in strength and warmth in order to provide the optimal lighting conditions for its surroundings. lamina explores new possibilities for more efficient production and recycling techniques. About The Artwork Viscosity is a dynamic, uniquely shaped five-layered wall or ceiling sconce light. Four satin white layers feature a color applied to the back of each, which glows subtly in natural light when the fixture is off, but grows increasingly brilliant when turned on or in darkness when the front plane appears completely silhouetted. Part of the award-winning Heliocentric lighting collection by Rob Zinn for blankblank. From front to back, the Cool colorway features reverse layers colored in Turquoise, Sky Blue, Mint, Neon Green, and White (Uncolored). Other standard color options include Sorbet, Warm, and Major.
