Anne Curry is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. Her outdoor sculpture has been exhibited at major exhibition gardens around the UK such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and her work can be found in collections from Bangkok to L.A, Toronto to the Cote d'Azur. She has also featured at the Venice Biennale as recently as 2017 and her work was recently displayed in the Royal Enclosure, Ascot for the 2018 season. Drawing inspiration from plant forms, her work evokes the power of life at work in nature. The curves, spirals of growth, the unfolding of leaves and flowers, the bursting of seed pods - all of which imply controlled movement, a disciplined and mathematical progression. The illustrations include the artist's own cast and others. Please note the price quoted is for resin casting which takes 6 weeks. Bronze casting price is available on request. This is established on individual enquiry as prices are updated quarterly due to fluctuating material costs. We can also facilitate fixings and installation to suit the location. The sculpture is sold in an edition of 9, 5 having been cast and installed thus far in the UK, South of France, Los Angeles and Wuhan, China and another in France. Door to door shipping and installation can be facilitated and is provided by professional art shipping specialists.
When I was at the Celebration of Fine Art last Friday, I enjoyed meeting Terrell Powell and seeing his whimsical art works. This colorful tower of birds made me smile. Terrell told me about a project he's hosting to create colorful benches to be placed in children's hospitals or doctors offices. It's called the Children's Art Bench Project. Terrell's art pieces are sure to put a smile on everyone's face.

or giant elk antlers. We were wandering from Kew Palace to another place we could have our afternoon tea when we came across these very unusual sculptures. This is a sycamore seed sculpture. Kew’s entrances are being transformed with new garden displays to mark the anniversary year, beginning April 4. A Seed Walk with huge willow sculptures will line the mini-Broadwalk at Main Gate. Reaching more than 13 feet tall and about 16 feet wide, there’ll be five sculptures at first: a sycamore seed, coco de mer, a conker and a lotus seed head. They’ll be set against tropical display beds planted specially for the anniversary. By the end of the summer, all 10 sculptures by artist Tom Hare will be complete. The Seed Walk is inspired by Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank (MSB), which aims to collect and bank seeds from 10 per cent of the world’s wild flowering plant species by 2010. An exhibition about Kew’s MSB Partnership will run next to the Seed Walk in the Nash Conservatory until September.

If you weren't able to see this show in person, here's a few of my favorite images from my solo exhibit at the Grants Pass Museum of Art in Grants Pass Oregon. The exhibit showcases seven installations from the Nest, Umbel, Relic, Lichen, Rock Candy, Bone & Hive Series. The works are all inspired by structures and patterns found in nature. These ideas are explored in abstract ceramic forms that are composed in a way that is deeply rooted to a sense of place. All of the installations are accompanied by photos of the works placed out in nature where they were first inspired by.
Fun, simple, no prep outdoor art activity for any age. Great for family time, playdates, school classes. Gather inspiration from artist Andy Goldsworthy.
