Mini Photo Magnet Display Giveaway!
For my first post, I want to share an “easy” project. I find other sites assuring me that projects are quick and simple, yet it takes me 10 different supplies and hours to complete them…
One afternoon I was doing chores and as usual my mind wandered to how I want my craft room to look when it’s finished and how I want some things on shelves out where I can see them and others in drawers. While using my nestabilities one night, which were still on the cards that they were purchased on, the adhesive came completely off of the card when I pulled off a die. That got me thinking of a better way to store these. I like some things to be stored so they are not only easy to get to, but also look interesting as a decoration in my room. I had what I consider a scathingly brilliant idea for storing my dies. I asked by husband to make a picture frame for me in his wood shop with a ¼” plywood back for where the picture would normally go. I painted the picture frame white. On the ¼” plywood I glued down some magnet sheets with spray adhesive and trimmed them to fit the ¼” plywood. I then used some more spray adhesive to adhere some beautiful wrapping paper that I found in the Hallmark section at Wal-mart. This paper fits perfectly with my craft room colors which are teal, white, and lime green. The pattern is also a very elegant backdrop for my dies. Then I simply added my nestabilities in the order I wanted them displayed. Because the entire inside of the frame is a magnet sheet the dies will stick anywhere in any order. Although I don’t have many sets right now, I have plenty of room to expand, and if I have to I can make another with a different paper in the back. I just love how this looks and how easy it is to see what dies I have and get to them. The inside opening of the frame is 16 in. x 27 in. My craft room isn't finished yet so I leaned my Nestabilities frame up against the wall in what used to be my craft room, which is now my husband's office. The color of the wall in the picture will be the color on the walls of my craft room when it gets finished. What do you think?

Today I am going to share a fun yard art project that I am calling screwball flowers. I had seen these floating around FB and no tutorial, but had to have some of my own. Really wasn’t sure what to call them, but these are made from a wood ball and screws. Hence the name screwball flowers. The ones that I had seen on FB may have been made using golf balls. Not having any golf balls but knowing that I could find some large wood balls at Hobby Lobby I decided to go with that.
Know someone who would love this in their kitchen? Well you can make them one by following this super simple tutorial from Tim and Mary Vidra.

Il est encore temps de glisser quelques présents dans les calendriers de l'avent... ici, petite recherche en cours pour des décorations à suspendre dans le sapin ou ailleurs... celle-ci doit être améliorée, mais le temps, toujours le temps qui manque...
Do you have a pile of dominoes that have smudged Stazon images? Are they just sitting there mocking you but you can't bear to throw them out? I did....so I turned them into magnets to use as prizes for my sons preschool Halloween Carnival. Parents donate small favors and candy to be used as prizes for the different game booths that are set up. I had a bunch of dominoes that were stamped and they just didn't look good enough to use (not centered, smudged, too scratched) that I wanted to get off my stamping table to make room for all the other projects I have going on! I cut 1 inch x 2 inch strips of Only Orange cardstock. I heat embossed the Jack-o-Lantern face from the Autumn Harvest set in black. Because my dominoes had a slightly rounded edge I clipped a tiny bit from each corner with my paper snips. I then sponged the edges of the cardstock with Only Orange ink. I adhered the cardstock to the domino using red sticky tape. The edge of the domino is wrapped in black grosgrain ribbon also adhered with red sticky tape. For the little stem I made a knot with some retired Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon and stuck that on the top with a glue dot. I bought a roll of adhesive magnetic tape and just put a small strip on the backside of the domino. DONE! I made 20 of these in no time at all. So don't throw out those oops dominoes --find another use for them by covering them up with some stamped images on cardstock or a strip of designer paper and making them into magnets for stocking stuffers, hostess gifts, or for the kids to play with on the fridge (an alphabet set would be cool!) Stamps: Autumn Harvest Ink: Only Orange, Versamark Paper: Only Orange Accessories: domino game pieces, black embossing powder, heat gun, satin ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, sponge red sticky tape, adhesive magnet tape
